Hi Alex, and thank you for the feedback. As Chris mentioned, this is a learning curve for us, coming from all hard armour, so we are slowly learning. I have a set contact, who has given us a couple of small pieces of information on general costumes from the show, but as you can understand with NDA's etc there isn't a great deal they can share. I'm still working on that to get clarity on a few things, so I hope we can get some useful hints that may help us out here. Magnificent costume sir, I love your level of detail, it's beautiful.2 points

Hello there! I’m working on a stormtrooper kit from anovos that I bought local from someone. They never got around to building it so I got it for a bargain. I have been following ukswrath’s anovos build thread which has been very helpful and so far I’m happy with how it’s turning out. I’m used to EVA foam so abs is a little different. I’m on to the legs and I’m finding them to be a bit loose and jangly so I dont know if I should trim them more and re glue or just trim the top down so they can sit higher. I’m a bit skinnier than a screen accurate actor, 5’10 150 lbs. Any skinny troopers with advice? Any other advice also welcome of course, here are some pictures of how the armor currently sits.1 point

I would personally just tape it in! It doesn't need to be super permanent I don't think!1 point

Welcome, Matt! (I'm from the GGG and am the one who suggested you start this thread.) Looks like you're making good progress! If you haven't noticed already, you're very limited in the size and number of photos you can upload directly to the forum, so we suggest you host your photos elsewhere (eg imgur or similar) and embed links instead. And if you haven't already, definitely peruse the other build threads here to get guidance and inspiration from folks who have already completed their builds or are farther along. Looking forward to seeing your progress!1 point

Great job so far Asher! Some foam and tape could do wonders for how it sits on the body! The links that Glen posted are awesome!1 point

Alright guys, found the perfect shoes at the world famous Oktoberfest the other day! just kidding of corse, big thanks to my friend @Action Jackson for handing me over his spare pair of FO-TK boots Also, have a good look on our sweet SESQ-Merchandise (the lederhosn 😁) designed by the fantastic @Laubi I tried my very best to get all I gathered on knowledge of the costume into the CRL thread. All I was able to collect was based all on the screenshots we made ourself or screen caps (but they only have one picture per second, first world problems...). I never ment I am using the Hot toys figure as my reference, but in my eyes it was kind of good to see they also interpreted it the same way I did, as they surely had better pictures or the costume itself to work with. Badly I haven't got he luck to know the production team, so all I collected was from the various sources seen above. Maybe it would also be an option to leave suggestions in terms of material choice out, as long as it has the matching look it has the matching look. What about setting the material choices free to go on lvl 1 and the suggested materials from lvl 2 or higher? I mean gold leaving and cracks are lvl 3, in my eyes painted on gold color destroys the look so much more than the choice of the material as long as it goes with the look also I recolored the gloves as just matting it down didn't quite please me, mixed it to be as close to the kama as possible to keep the overall look the shinier undried part is the mixed color, just need to make good pics of it Also it was quite a struggle to get all details of the gloves and hide the remaining stitches, but as long as you are not looking with a microskope it will stand its look. Don't worry, this is the old color last but not least for now present the probably ugliest undersuit trouser I have ever seen...Its a pair of XXL sweater arms sewn onto a leggins 😁 not pretty like that, not pretty worn...but as soon as hard parts go on it's perfect! (I know the color looks off, thats the lightening of the shop together with my camera) Tonight we'll keep on with the belt, prepare for minor corrections in the pending CRL here as well from me 🤐1 point

it’s not fitted, just used it so the boxes would stay in place. The side you see is the back and this is the front. And these are correct right??1 point

L2 Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet, painted white, in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge. Not solid head1 point

Position looks ok but your rivet is not correct OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet, painted white, in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge. But you could check with your GML, he/she/they may allow for basic approval1 point

Some great threads for those of a thinner shorter stature https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ I'm 6' but very skinny so I tried to keep the kit at a regular size (about the same seen on screen) but added foam in a lot of areas, I have a block of foam in the fronts and sides of the thighs, forearms and biceps, as well as quite a big piece of foam behind the abdomen, this was being squashed in on the sides when the belt was tightened, adding the foam stopped the belt from pulling too much. Thighs do look a little wide so you may want to trim those down a little, really depends on how they have glued it, hopefully E6000 which would make it easier to come apart with a little pressure. A nice How To for armor fitment1 point

Hey guys. Before I press the fittings for the knee boxes. Did my efforts turn out okay? It was super hard getting it where I wanted and I’m a bit off. But what do you think, okay for centurion? 🙂 @Nairy @TKSpartan @gmrhodes13 ** and I know, the press fittings are wrong side out. I’m just using them like that as support to see how it turned out and get your opinion …1 point

I got some more painting done today. I outlined the stuff I had previous just rough painted , and cleaned up the teeth as glen suggested. Next are tube stripes and the fine black lines in the grey areas. I was on trooper bay and have the tube stencils down to “ standard” and “hand painted” does anyone know what ones are used for a new hope stunt? Thanks for your time and any input as always!1 point

Thanks for the quick reply, I figured this was the case. I've also reached out on the Special Ops forum so hoping to hear back from them soon. Thanks again. Sent from my SM-A226B using Tapatalk1 point

No CRL for this costume as yet as nobody has built one, Spec Ops does have Cal and Kreel so no doubt they would look after other members of taskforce 99. There are some armor pieces which will need some rework to obtain this look. Info on new CRL's https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide Good luck1 point

FISD has many wonderful programs to help members build and submit costumes for our detachment, whether it be a classic Stormtrooper, a First Order Stormtrooper, or even one of the new Imperial Armored Commandos. While our Expert Infantry and Centurion programs get most of the attention, FISD staff wants to relaunch the Armorer Program (Currently called the Master Armorer Program). What is the Armorer Program you ask? Well, it is a program designed to recognize those troopers that go above and beyond to assist themselves and others in getting costumes built, submitted, and approved. One of the goals of all the detachments in the 501st Legion is to help members build and submit costumes that meet and hopefully exceed the minimum requirements of the Legion’s CRLs. Currently the Master Armorer program has the requirement of helping a minimum of 5 members achieve Expert Infantry status. The member must have spent at least 30min physically helping another member with cutting, gluing, sizing, etc, just because they want to help (no money exchanged). The definition of an armorer is “a maker, supplier, or repairer of weapons or armor”. So while we certainly love the feedback that members provide to others on the forums, and the extra steps some do by having video calls to help walk people through issues with their builds, this program requires hands on work. The new program will have the same physical help requirement, but we are going to move from a “wins” system, (where a win was help an individual for 30 min or more) to a points system, and we aren’t limiting it to only Expert Infantry builds. While we are pushing the Advance to 1500 to try and achieve 1500 Expert Infantry members, we recognize that the goal of the detachment is to get FISD members build, submitted, and approved. So we will be awarding points for Basic builds as well. Currently there are 3 levels of the award, FISD Armorer, FISD Senior Armorer and FISD Master Armorer. The new program will add a 4th level at the beginning called the Apprentice Armorer. The point scale will be as follows. 5 points - Apprentice Armorer 10 points - Armorer 20 points - Senior Armorer 30 points - Master Armorer The Armorer candidate would earn points based on what level the member costume they assisted with achieved. If you help with a basic build, you get 1 point, if you help with a EIB build you get 2 points. So a person to basic you get a point, help them again to get their EIB earning another 2 to a total of 3. The thought again here is that we want to help build as many stormtroopers as possible. If you love building armorer and love helping fellow members get their costumes built, then this is the program you’ve been searching for. We look forward to awarding more members with this award as we know how much we all love Troopers helping Troopers.1 point

The updated Armourer system is points based. By assisting other members in person you can earn points which count towards the ranks of the program. Ranks Apprentice Armorer (new) - 5 points Armorer - 10 points Senior Armorer - 20 points Master Armorer - 30 points These ranks will be awarded in the form of a forum badge in your profile. Rules All assistance must be in person and for a minimum of 30 minutes. Help is given in the spirit of Troopers Helping Troopers, no money or items of value may be exchanged. The candidate armourer must create a new thread in the Armorer Program Forum, For each member helped add a post to your thread stating: Who the member helped was. A summary of the help given. A link to the relevant approval page (legion for basic, or FISD for EIB). For points to be claimed the member helped must confirm the assistance in that thread. Should 2 people assist one member both may claim but must have assisted to a similar level, and both must be claimed and confirmed individually. Staff will update your running points total, and awards as they are earned. Points will be awarded as follows: 1 Point for assisting a member clear their first stormtrooper costume. 2 Points for assisting a member earn their first EIB award.1 point

I'm 184cm tall, and 70kg, overall, a skinny guy, and i use padding in the arms, not the torso neither the legs. In my case i do not need to trim the armor. I hope my example helps in some way Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk1 point
