TROOP #8 - Dallas Heart Walk 9/21/2024 A few of us troopers attended the Dallas Heart Walk on Saturday! This event raised over 4 MILLION dollars for the American Heart Association - incredible! We took pictures with families before the walk started, and then joined in on the post walk celebrations. They had us draw the raffle winners on stage which was fun. Edit: The snowie in the pictures is also my approval day buddy! So it was cool to meet and troop with him for the first time! Before the walk They asked up to pose for the photo booth And as usual, I ended up dancing, while we we were waiting to go on stage. https://i.imgur.com/cuO53wF.mp43 points

The details are not very sharp, it actually looks like it's been recast from another helmet, be great if we could see the molds used to make these. "Recasting is a process whereby someone takes a prop that has already been made and makes a copy of it. Props are sometimes 100% fan created, sometimes are found items (e.g. a henglster counter that they bought), or from a private collector prop such as a screen used helmet that someone bought at auction. The whole argument against recasting is to protect prop makers that we depend on for our hobby, pure and simple. Let's take the case of a fan made item such as TM's armor. He put an awful lot of labor in to making this and by selling copies does the rest of us a favor, as creating your own fan sculpted armor is out of reach for most folks. By recasting his work it is a dis-incentive for him and others who do fan made props to offer anything up for sale. No fan made props heavily curtails our ability to enjoy our hobby. So member of this community go out of their way to protect this person's art work as we'd like to be recipients of his labors." We have a whole section just on "recasting" https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/225-recasting-discussion/ If it's not "recast" then I would suggest the maker adjust his/her molds to make the details crisper. There are other helmets available out there with crisper details and I would suggest purchasing from there, here's our "vetted sellers" thread Same helmet different thread2 points

Greetings my fellow troopers in white. I was looking for some advice on if I acquired one of the Hasbro/Disney E-11’s with lights and sound as attached how much work I’d need to put in for basic approval besides painting it all black of course and if they even were still an approvable option. Thanks heaps in advance for all the useful information I’m sure you all have1 point

Thanks heaps, next question was probably going to be the print files I’d need for modifications1 point

I got some more painting done today. I outlined the stuff I had previous just rough painted , and cleaned up the teeth as glen suggested. Next are tube stripes and the fine black lines in the grey areas. I was on trooper bay and have the tube stencils down to “ standard” and “hand painted” does anyone know what ones are used for a new hope stunt? Thanks for your time and any input as always!1 point

This one is an early Rogue One helmet. I welcome an admin to do so.1 point

This GIF is just comparing it to my helmet, to just highlight the distortion that's currently on the images! It doesn't look too far off, it's just something with the eyes! Nore that I have a Hero helmet and not a Stunt!1 point

Was it used in Rogue One or is it from the Disney+ series? Thank you for uploading! Did you add them to the Gallery?1 point

Hello and welcome back, a build thread will definitely give you feedback on how your build is progressing as well as giving valuable tips and tricks, good luck1 point

None of us have claimed to be an expert, most of our CRLs are hard armour and that is most of what we know yes. However rather than coming and throwing insults at us, participate. The CRL thread is here : Please post your images there and we can discuss it.1 point

Excatly. The Crl don't give a exact distance but the references are clear. Some troopers place the rivet too close to the edge.1 point

Welcome back Cody! As you can see, we are still here and ready to assist where ever we can. Definitely create that build thread, it's the best way to get feedback. Use IMGUR to share images. It's a hosting site, which will allow you to share stacks of photos. (free to use) Use this thread to learn how.1 point

G'day! A couple years later and I finally managed to buy some armor for myself, and soon I'll get in the process of actually putting it together and painting it over! I think I have to make a build thread for my progress over it? Which I can do tomorrow, definitely really excited.1 point

Troop 22: Small But Mighty 10th Anniversary Childhood Cancer Gold Walk in Saskatoon 14Sep24 I passed on three previous troops as they were all very short and a long drive to get to. I was also going to pass on this one for the same reason then we learned that the only other major troop in the province that was to be held the last weekend of the month was cancelled by the organizer. I was already missing everyone so decided I would make the troop regardless of it being just two hours long. It might now be the last troop of the year for me as our local GEC wants to step back from the roll and I don't know who will be able to fill his boots to pull much else off before the end of the year. I'm not entirely happy about this news at all. The floor covering in this gym was like a minefield. Every step we had to make sure we weren't hooking ourselves under parts of it and doing a face plant. Thankfully no injuries. We were at this event to be another activity for the kids and families to do. We did a photo booth and a small droid hunt. Most of the activities were contained in a school gym. I don't really need to say it was fun but I will say anyway that it was fun! They all are! All photos by Tim Edwin Paul. I think this one is telling my counterpart lies. He wants to be let go: After navigating the floor for two hours the steps up to the trailer deck were easy: The crew that came out for it. I wasn't going to let the prisoner get away again: So maybe another troop at the end of October if I can fit it in my busy October month otherwise.... hard to say when the chance will come again. 48. Flower City Comic Con, 15 September 2024 One of our members bought a very nicely designed white lightsaber with black trim (perfect TK colors!) which I had to pose with: Question: Is this a Jawa problem, or a droid problem?1 point
