  3. Is there a recommended width for the shoulders or anything to keep in mind before gluing them on? Wanting to apply for both Expert and Centurion so would rather do it right the first time.

  4. Troop 69 London, Ontario September 15, 2024 London Comicon Day 2 Day 2 was a bit quieter, but was again a lot of fun. We are lucky to have Roger Christian living in our area, so he comes to a lot of the local events. He was a guest at the lightsaber booth next to us and was happy to tell stories about working on the films and posing for photos. He is really a great guy and is very happy to share his experiences. I passed him my blaster for the photo, as without him, we would have a very different blaster to carry around.

  5. Troop 68 London, Ontario September 14, 2024 London Comicon Day 1 This is a smaller con but fun just the same. The morning was spent in my Darth Maul costume but the afternoon brought out the TK for blast a trooper and photos.

  6. Troop 67 Toronto , Ontario September 13, 2024 Sick Kids Hospital Virtual Troop This was a first virtual troop for me. We were asked to go I. On a zoom call with a very sick young Star Wars fan. He was very weak and could barely speak, but with the help of his dad, found out that he likes chocolate chip cookies, so there is a chance we may be able to lure him to the dark side. Hoping this little guy has a speedy recovery.

  7. Hi, im Melisa. Per the course this is me taking a small project and going WAY overboard. I have been in the furry fandom for some 20+ years and have a bit of experience making costumes. Thiers quite a few conventions here in the SA area so i have started a storm trooper build. Im an electrical engineer by trade so if any one needs help with projects... throw me a message.

  8. Just completed my first troop event at The 14th Annual St. Baldrick's Shave-A-Thon in Livonia, MI on Sunday, Sept 22d, 2024 There were approximately 300 people who passed through while I was there. The event has raised over $101k for childhood specific cancer research, not sure how much more came in for the day. https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/metrodetroitbaldricks2024 My volunteer page is here: https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/tk18635 I will be changing the strapping on the side shims and shaving a little off the forearm for comfort.

  10. Welcome, Melissa! We always love seeing a trooper in the making, and will be ready to provide feedback if you ever need any. I have family in SA, so it's close to my heart. Go Spurs Go!

  11. 🙂 work continues and the build is slowly taking shape. Everything goes slower as many steps are small adjustments rather than big pieces. GLOVES: UPPER LEGS: On the right one I’m a bit unsure regarding the knee pack. Before I drill a hole at the wrong place I’ll ask here. Is placement right? Is there anything to keep in mind? Got a suggestion that @TKSpartan may have useful insight? 🙂 Off course all others with helpful thoughts are more than welcome too.

  12. Fortunately my wife was there to help me get changed in the parking lot and avoid dangerous stairs. I now fully understand the value of secure charging rooms.

  14. So far the hand and bicep parts have been printed out in resin. The helmet should be done today if not during this passed night. And the greeblies for it are going on today. one thing I’m trying to get found out is if keep troopings boots would pass level 2. I inquired with Vincent and he said since he does the boots with proper thick leather , unlike crowprops who does it with thinner leather and a backing material, that adding padding isn’t really possible. I was wondering if the usage of thicker material would give that raised look the crl seems to be asking for on the instep. If I’m perfectly honest I’ve perused the screenshots and I can’t really make out on the crl or in the actual show to what degree so if I can get clarification on his shoes and if they’ll meet the additional accuracy requirements that would be great

  15. Thanks to both of you, especially for being that fast and sorry for taking so long to answer. Yea I figured that my painting skills don't meet level 2 standards I'll have a friend fix that for me, otherwise it will again look like a three year old painted it. That might take some time tho. Here's the missing pictures, except the action shot. That will follow once the helmet paintings are fixed. Hope thats all (except the action shot) Thank you for your effords

  16. I worked on the TD yesterday. I made sure the overall length is 7.25” and the screw heads were painted black. I have not glued the top plate on yet but if it looks good as it is, I will do so.
