  1. Hello, my name is James. So unlike my usual process for Halloween of starting two weeks before and rushing through a costume build I decided to start planning earlier in the year for a build from Mando, then I put it off. I restarted the process at the beginning of August and pivoted to Captain Enoch. In doing so I decided I needed reference photos and that landed me here in the Enoch section for the last week or so gathering data. This has pushed me from semi phoning it in on the soft parts of the costume with a red kilt instead of a Kama to deciding I want to try and get the armor approved once that is finished so I can join the 501st and my local garrison. I look forward to participating in the forum, now off to order 5 more kilos of filament.

  2. Hi all, Hopefully I’ve come to the right area for this. So, I’m about to fulfil my ambition of having a costume from each episode of the original trilogy by getting a commission build Scout trooper with RS. I’ve decided to go with a commission as my TK build took a long time and I don’t want to take on the helmet as it looks quite tricky. Decision made in that 👍. All that said, I do have some questions: Looking at the CRL, it appears that L2 is the highest level achievable. Is this correct? To achieve L2, are there any common approval issues about the RS Scout commission build I should be aware of? The guys at RS are super helpful and I’m lucky they’re relatively on my doorstep that I can visit in person. I’m sure if there were any elements of my build that I needed in a specific way, they would accommodate as much as possible. Ultimately, I want to try and achieve basic approval as smoothly as I possible can and reduce the number of adjustments needed for the higher levels if I choose to pursue these. Thanks all, Tim

  4. Moving back to getting the hand-painted look on the tears and traps, I kept thinking about @JBar’s comment about making them ‘less than perfect’ . I initially tried the sharpie, but the ink wasn’t really sticking to the surface very well. So I went back to a fine tip brush and paint. This is what I wound up with, hopefully not too imperfect now! Keen eyes will note that the rear trap sticker is on the other side of the helmet now. I got that wrong, and had to re-stick it. I have no ‘before’ photos of the other set of stickers, but the imperfectness is similar. Look OK now?

  5. Hello and welcome aboard, the CRL for this costume is a work in progress but should be going live soon, make sure you check the base requirements, once everything is together you contact your local GML (garrison membership liaison) who looks after costume approvals in your area. Make sure you check out the Enoch area for others builds https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/263-captain-enoch/

  10. I went over it all again, and now I have at least a toothpick's width of gap when held perpendicular to the tooth, and pressing down so the toothpick contacts the plane of the tooth: It's so hard to get good photos of this area, I guess since it's such a bright white.

  11. Looks better at that angle, just double check none are on the curve of the gum See how these have a small gap between the tooth and gum

  12. Trimmed the middle panel a bit more to emphasize the triangular shape of the gap, good call. More pics after another coat of red. Been working on the center connector and cut new pieces after templating based off the old one, but increased the gaps and it is more consistently symmetrical. Mixed up some leather paint but needed to darken up the available grey. It dried lighter than I'd like so I may do another coat with more black mixed in. And laid out, almost completed.
