Please everyone join me in congratulating Joseph as the incoming DL of our fine Detachment. Congratulations, Joseph, I look forward to seeing what the next chapter for FISD will be under your direction. The membership is in good hands, and I am here to support you with what ever you need, as I am positive any of the staff existing and new into the future will. Once again, congratulations3 points

Yeah the base of the image is Anovos' armor diagram, and then Tony (ukswrath) added in the measurements for this AWESOME thread HERE. I also slightly modified them to remove the round numbers to make the images less busy when I used them on my thread.3 points

My name is Josh... I'm a Star Wars-aholic... I've been with the 501st since 2022 as a Revenge of the Sith Darth Vader. I've currently got 3 costumes in various stages of completion (hence the "aholic" moniker) above... TK, Tank Trooper, and Imperial Officer. I'm finally getting the ability to put together my ANH Stunt starting in February at an armor party. I've got a second hand Walt's kit that never got beyond some very minimal initial trimming, so everything is still mostly in its untrimmed form. I've been following the WTF ANH Stunt Build thread and I've got about everything except for some of the soft parts (strapping, velcro, etc.) that I will be procuring this weekend (my daughter gets an employee discount at JoAnn's... YEAH!). I'm looking forward to another lovely costume that it's difficult to see and sit in !! ...sitting, yeah, that is what the Imperial Officer costume is for... lol!1 point

Greetings fellow members, It is my pleasure to announce the two newest recipients of our Imperial Attaché Outstanding Achievement Award. This honor is bestowed on Attachés who go above and beyond the call of duty in their role as an Imperial Attaché, and both of these troopers have consistently exemplified the qualities warranting recognition. Arthur @giskard8 - TK39093, Hong Kong Garrison A seasoned veteran of the Detachment, when Arthur is not trooping he can be found welcoming new members to the forum and congratulating our new and higher level approvals. His actions contribute to the long tradition of FISD being the friendliest forum in the Legion, and no doubt Arthur will continue to consistently be at his Attaché post! Today we salute your unquestioned loyalty, Arthur! Gerald @Doggydoc - TK96004, Canadian Garrison It's nearly impossible to sneak in a new member introduction or special approval post without Gerald jumping in and welcoming the aspiring builder or joining the celebration of the new approval. He is also known to provide valuable input and helpful feedback throughout the forum. Today we salute your unquestioned loyalty, Gerald! Please join me in congratulating these two troopers!1 point

Not vendors as such, but there is a guy who has done some really nice work on his own Kama. I haven't delved deep into his vs accuracy, but he has shown them off in a video that you may find interesting. https://www.facebook.com/reel/13604664246012221 point

2024-02-03, BrickFest LIVE Loveland 2024 - Day 1 & 2 Got some great outreach done working the table & costuming this weekend. Many many attendees, great questions and lots of very interested individuals that I hope will join our ranks. Day 2 One of the highlights was this little boy whose dad said they saw us, but I left to go on break before they could get to us to take a pic. In the last 20 min of the day they happened to make their way back in time to get to meet the trooper in White Armor. His dad was as happy as he was.1 point

Troop #39 We returned to Cumbernauld comic con for day 2 in the centre. Had a blast this weekend with Lottsa love from the public, loads of photo ops, high fives and fistbumps.1 point

Troop #3 This troop was an appearance at a birthday party (for the child of a member's friend), and this was a quick appearance of about 20 minutes given the short attention span of children. We were a hit with both the children and the adults present, with ample photos taken among all! I made sure to snag a selfie of us just after we returned to the changing room (it seems I have a trampoline as a halo...): The trooper on my right was the only one of us with a voice amp, which really came in handy for interacting with the group! Looks like I need to prioritize getting my own voice amp as that will certainly help with interacting with others when I am wearing my bucket!1 point

Troop #2 I live far enough west in Indiana that many sizable towns in Illinois are within a reasonable driving distance. Knowing this, I reached out to the Midwest Garrison to see if I could occasionally troop with them (in addition to my trooping with Bloodfin). They welcomed me aboard their forum and Facebook chat just a few days ago, and I was in luck as they had a troop coming up soon! That troop was today, and it was the Quadcon Comic & Toy Expo in Champaign, Illinois. This expo was mainly used as an opportunity to recruit new members into the garrison and Legion, so I was happy to help by talking with individuals interested in joining! We met someone who has built a complete Anovos ANH Stunt kit, and his partner who has a complete TIE pilot costume, but have yet to take the next step of applying for membership! Needless to say, we gave both all details about the CRLs and the application process, which they were very receptive to. Hopefully we convinced them to apply! I didn't have much time for photos, but I made sure to get a photo of me under the Midwest Garrison's banner, and next to the mannequin we dressed as a Mandalorian: Interestingly enough, the venue was not open to masks or head coverings (strange for a place hosting a convention where may people were in cosplay), so I was only able to wear my bucket when in the immediate confines of our booth, and I had to be bucket-less when venturing anywhere outside our booth. Venturing around bucket-less seemed to be very helpful in that I could invite anyone who showed interest in my armor over to our booth! This especially happened when I made my way to and from the food court. I was able to get many people interested enough to visit our booth, and sure enough, just about everyone I had talked to came by at some point! I went to this troop thinking it would be the only one of the day, but during the troop I was told another TK was needed for a birthday party later in the day. It didn't take much for me to say yes, so soon enough I was off to the next troop!1 point

Way to go Joseph! As you know being a DL is a marathon, not a race, and you've been training for this for years. I'm sure you'll be a stellar, amazing, and highly effective leader for this detachment. The fact that you ran unopposed is a testament to your dedication, and the positive relationships you've built throughout the years. Your contributions to FISD are noteworthy and of singular accomplishment. I can't wait to see what you do next. Seems like I'll need to go to FL for a staff breakfast in 2024!1 point

Thank you for this award, it is a true honor. I certainly have no idea why on the Death Star I deserved this, but I will take this as an encouragement and continue to server our community with pride. One thing I like to report on a project I am currently working on; I am making a series of video guide, localized in Cantonese about DIY a Stromtrooper. This project is inspired by our late FISD member CableGuy (Dan), I hope to follow his footsteps on documenting the building process and introduce the collective wisdom of FISD to Cantonese speaking Star Wars fans in Hong Kong, UK, Canada and other countries (yes, we are now scattered all over the world), hoping to make a connection and keep the Cantonese language alive at the same time. I planned six 25mins episodes of A-Z introduction and will move on to do a new kit TK/TD after that, the series is now into its 2nd episode and I am currently making the 3rd one. I will make a thread and report on the progress in the Chinese section under "Imperial Embassies".1 point
