The only person I know who would be able to possibly help would be Chris from the Blaster Factory @fieldmarshall. He actually makes 100% accurate reproductions of these in metal as well as a host of other items, so if there is anyone to contact it would be him.2 points

Ran into a few snags regarding the chest, but still trying to work through them! The Galactic Armory files are undersized, and I have some concerns that scaling them may result in some proportional issues. I asked him to take a look and he's responded positively. These were printed at 100% in PETG, scaling up to 118% or so to fit me at 5'10" and 205 lbs the front/back is really deep and looks bad. Pics here include some comparisons to the 850 chest in size/scale. I asked Christian of 3D Fanatics to resin print out the helmet files from Vek3d/Walsh and our discussed evolved into him doing the paint-up as well. He did a fantastic job, and he set the bar high for the rest of the build I think!1 point

My first troop! I had great timing with my first troop as Star Wars Night at the Indy Fuel was probably one of the biggest troops of the year! The Indy Fuel is the professional hockey team in Indianapolis, Indiana, and they played against the Toledo Walleye of Toledo, Ohio. The Indy Fuel won the game, so I like to think we helped bring about the victory! The Indy Fuel contributed a portion of the price of each ticket sold to a charity providing free school supplies to teachers. As with many troops here in Indiana, the Bloodfin Garrison teamed up with the Taakure Clan of the Mandalorian Mercs and the Mos Espa Base of the Rebel Legion for this event. All three groups collaborate under the name Star Wars Indiana. The doors to the arena opened one hour before the game, so after getting a group photo, we stationed ourselves around the entrance hall. Having been told it would be really cold right in front of the main doors, I decided to begin the evening in the warmer climes of one of the far sides of the entrance hall. I was there with a couple other members, and we were still able to take many photos with game attendees as we were near one of the ticket checks for the arena. After a while, I figured it was my turn to protect Lord Vader, so I went to the coldest part of the entrance hall, where Vader was standing with multiple members of the Imperial Officer Corps. Standing just past the security check, we were front and center as the game attendees walked in! Lots and lots of photos were taken here, with both children and adults anxiously waiting their turn! Meanwhile, the outside temperature had dipped to 0 F (-17 C), and that air was getting into the building as the doors were propped open at that point, so I knew it was time to move to a different area when I started to shiver. Lord Vader was left in good and friendly hands when I was relieved. In due course, the crowds started to draw down as they went into the arena for the game, so it was time to talk amongst ourselves and take any photos with stragglers heading into the game. I also did other fun things, such as conducted some observations of the zamboni during half time: I got to take some photos with another trooper’s E-11: Pretended to be in the 1980s: And then we all took one last group photo before heading back to the changing room. Overall, it was an amzaing experience to have for a first troop! Seeing the absolute joy on kids' faces as they got to take photos with us was incredible! The joy on the adults' faces was fantastic too! We received numerous complements on our costumes, and I hope we inspired others to join the Legion, Mando Mercs, and/or Rebel Legion through our efforts!1 point

That was the closest video I found, but with that one being a resin build the assembly is slightly different unfortunately. Was messing with it last night and almost got it together but it seems like I'll have to do it with another pair of hands. Everything else about the blaster assembly is super simple but the stock is incredibly finicky. It basically requires 3 steps to be done simultaneously, the main difficulty is keeping the latch spring compressed whilst hammering in the locking pin. Definitely not designed to be manually assembled. Where's General Grievous when you need him..1 point

The only draw back with using ABS in front areas is it can dry a slightly different color to the armor especially once sanded/polished, thin coats are also best so it reduces any air bubbles while curing. If it does dry differently you would have to try to match some paint. Personally I would try not to touch the fronts and add/customize the rear as it's not seen as much by the public.1 point

42. 2024-01-13, Örebro Universitetssjukhus (Örebro University Hospital), Örebro (Hero) The first troop of the year! First off, what a year 2023 has been! Never in a million years did I think I would do 32 troops, and it has taken its toll on the armor, with lots of cracks suddenly appearing and needing to be tended to, and with me losing weight, I have to shorten my shims and polish up some bits of the armor to keep it as pristine as possible! The yearly event where we "dance out Christmas" (directly translated to English from the Swedish phrase) together with children who either has or has survived cancer! We perform old traditional Christmassy dances as a good bye to Christmas and "plunder" the tree of ornaments! Events like this really reminds oneself of why we do this and what an incredible impact we have in peoples lives.1 point

FanExpo New Orleans 2024 Blast-a-Trooper fundraiser for Make-a-Wish (Jan 7, 2024) -Bast Alpha Garrison I took a 3-hour shift to be shot with NERF darts for charity! We had a combined area with Rebel Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, and Droid Builders. The sets they had on hand were amazing! I explored the expo afterwards and finally found the LEGO Rancor we've needed! Lots of other vendors and celebrities (Katee Sackhoff visited the booth the day before I went).1 point
