Some more research find Baradium-core code key thermal detonator No O detail replaced with a belt button cover Baradium-core code key thermal detonators were special thermal detonators in use by the Galactic Republic's clone army and later used by the Galactic Empire's special ops troopers, such as stormtroopers and the dark troopers. The model had adjustable time settings, ranging from six to eighteen seconds and a small range of five meters within which all matter could be vaporized depending on the setting, or matter in a particular direction. They had activated only with the right code tapped into it; therefore, Rebels couldn't use captured explosives against them. Also, the buttons were unlabelled, which ensured that even if a Rebel discovered the code, they couldn't figure out which buttons to press in order to activate the detonator. Owing to this, stormtroopers needed to employ pattern memorization. When using the detonator, section 32.B.ST57 in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps Field Manual mandated that the stormtrooper remove their thermal detonator from equipment clip on their lower back, then inspect the detonator for any signs of damage as well as confirm the integrity of the baradium core. They were also given strict instructions to not use it if they were in possession of a potentially unstable detonator. The stormtrooper should then estimate the target range, input the time delay and then input the activation code. Then, while standing half-facing the target, the stormtrooper was to make a lobbed, overhead throw and in the direction of the target, before promptly taking cover from the detonator blast. The stormtrooper then immediately followed up with concentrated blaster fire against the target position. According to the Imperial Handbook: A Commander's Guide, maintaining the weapons included a regular inspection for imperfections in the outer casing as well as full replacement of any damaged units, and that it could be modified to include magnetic and adhesive outer sleeves. In addition, the Rebel general Carlist Rieekan mentioned in his commentary that sometimes captured stormtroopers would trigger the detonator to avoid detainment and interrogation, although he also speculated that they may do so as a means for them to score one final kill.3 points

I will join the others here in noting to feel free to keep asking questions and posting updates! I (as many of us here) certainly enjoy reading the build threads of others! Although I built a shock trooper, the kit I used was a Walt's Trooper Factory ANH kit that I then modified, so I have familiarity with the specific make of this kit.1 point

Yes. The conversation started because I ordered soft parts for my Deathtrooper, but didn’t want the kidney seal because I ordered a rubber one. When I realized the rubber seals won’t pass Specialist review in the Spec Ops Detachment, I reached back out to Dave and he talked me through the construction. However, he did this knowing that I have an industrial sewing machine. You can do ribbed stitching using a home machine, but it either takes a steady hand, or an advanced machine. On the plus side, with a home machine, you can use a double needle and that’s a huge asset. I can walk you through the process, but if you want to talk to someone who’s done some awesome work using a home machine, reach out to @Cricket. Her Shoretrooper shirt was phenomenal and definitely worth checking out.1 point

Did I refer her to you? I can’t remember, but I bought a Shoretrooper seal from her a couple years ago and it’s great. I try to send people that way as much as possible. Nice selection.1 point

Sounds like a plan, anyone can suggest changes to CRL's and the addition of higher level requirements is long overdue for this costume, when they are addressed is another matter and depends on how busy staff are. Once you have researched try to add text and images so they may be discussed by staff and members. I would have a look at some of the other CRL's, ANH, ESB, ROTJ compared with Legacy trooper and see which common items may be added L2 and L3 requirements. We are coming up to elections soon so this may need to be addressed by the next FISD command team dependant on how long it takes .1 point

Hello there Kody! Great to hear you're endeavoring to continue your build! All the links that Glen and Mario provided are excellent resources and should serve you well! That last index thread that Mario mentioned is one I compiled and towards the bottom I include links to build threads of various armor types, including WTF. You may find it helpful to review the build of people with the same armor kit as you since every type has their unique quirks. =) Asking lots of questions will also be very useful to you, and lots of troopers will be around to provide guidance! And btw, I'm jealous of your SW CO location; tons of outdoors stuff to do there and in the nearby adjacent states!1 point

Hi Kody , welcome to FISD. you're doing the correct steps. post photos, ask first , measure twice and cut just once. We are here to help. Another useful source of tips for your build are some YouTube videos I can recommend you this channel and this useful INDEX OF RESOURCES Good luck and looking forward for your advances.1 point
