Hope its cool to add my recent research? after chopping up lots of leather trying different patterns to match what we can see in the promo pics. Here's a comparison of the size to the Standard E-11. I speculated they used a similar footprint for the holster? side profile side profile I believe Glen is on the money regarding the cut out being a functional addition, in order to get the right sided weapon out of the left sided holster makes life way easier. I've tried it next to the hard armour parts (not pictured) and the measurements stack up.....for me anyway3 points

I stay away from any enamel based paints, good for props but not for armor in my opinion, and don't get me started on RustOleum paint, I don't know whether its been old stock but I've never had a full can spray perfectly all the way through. Auto shops here sell automotive acrylic paint in spray cans, (not sure what there is around other parts of the world) from memory I used 6 cans of base white and 3 cans of clearcoat which works out a lot cheaper than having it professionally sprayed, albeit I've done automotive spray-painting in my past, and you can get a very nice gloss finish, just takes a little bit of practice getting used to applying the paint. The other advantage is being able to sand and compound polish if you get any bits of dust or any small runs.3 points

SE-14R Holster Research There has been a lot of research over the years on the subject of the "Promo" "Hero" trooper and what holster should be used for the SE-14R but there are no absolute official canon images of what the holster should look like, we only have partial images and peoples interpretation of those images. Much of the research has been lost due to the "Photobucket Debacle" and some archived but I've added what is salvageable below RS Holster worn by Hero helmet trooper below, mid attachment, believed to be a rebel DH-17 holster put on a TK belt (incorrectly). Also note the stitching is on the left (front) of the holster and the standard E-11 is on the right (back), it is shorter than the E-11 and also angled on the bottom. At first only believed to be worn by 1 trooper we have the image below showing 2 troopers sporting this style of holster. Very easy to spot as the holster is a lot shorter than an E-11 holster and slightly angled on the bottom Holster comparison E-11 on left, RS Variant on right - no cutout like promo trooper. Note the stitching is on the opposite side of the holster. Hero Promo, short like the RS holster also stitching on the left (front) BUT with a cut-out section and SE-14R in the holster, once again you can see it is a lot shorter than an E-11 holster as it is high on the thigh. This could very well be one of the RS style holsters modified with the cut out seen below. 4 rivet attachment as you can see the two rivets on the one strap below While looking at a lot of the promo pictures I can see it has an angle from left rising to the right much like the RS Variant holster so it may even be a similar design with the cut out added to it. Angled upwards in green After some debate and going over a lot of the reference material we concluded there had been different versions of the RS Variant / Promo / Hero trooper holster: 1 Hero with the tapered RS holster, sewn on opposite side and belt attachment in the middle with 2 rivets, wearing a detonator and no belt cover squares. 2 Hero Luke and 421 have the standard 4 rivet belt attachment E-11 style with com and grappling box 1 Hero the standard 4 rivet belt attachment E-11 style with detonator 1 Hero PROMO tapered holster RS style with cut out/notch for E-11 or SE-14R (trooper could holster either style weapon), 4 rivets on belt, sewn on opposite side, wearing a TD. My SE-14R Modelled from the RS Variant photo, but no cut out like Promo trooper I believe the cut out on the Promo trooper may have been added as removing the blaster from the holster may have been difficult while wearing gloves, the cut out may allow access to the trigger area, but that's just my thoughts Until any further references come to light this is the conclusion, check with your GML or GCO, some will allow non canon items to be worn, some won't.1 point

I also did this 3D file, which should meet Nato specs (I think anyway, it was a while ago I did it), and doesn't have the fake screws. https://www.printables.com/model/238211-standard-f-11d-tfa-to-tlj-conversion-parts1 point

As much as we all love saving money, sadly I think if you want good results you just have to “cry once buy once” and have it professionally painted like @ukswrath did.1 point

Rustoleum is not a great paint, at least the stuff they sell here. Several members and locals here in my garrison have had lack lustre results. Paint fry even after thorough pre-prep and bad batches of paint etc. This Berh Premium sounds like a good alternative, but haven't seen it in Australia yet. I have reached out to them to see if they have a distributed here, as I am keen to check it out myself. Will post their response.1 point

I recently did an out of town troop with some friends I'd never trooped with before. One shot in particular had us 4 TKs standing in very similar thumbs up poses looking basically identical in every way. It took me more than a minute to play "how well do I know my own armor?" and pick myself out of the group. Can't wait to get to share those pix. And since I'm replying I gotta meme...1 point

As promised better pics, you guys are the first to see. As you can see the details really speak for themselves! These ones are prototypes as I’m still learning how to use the material and these paints, so they aren’t 100%. It’s very delicate and precise work. These ones are for sale minus the ABS version as that is serial #1. If you are interested in picking up one of these first edition PP's shoot me a PM on here or FB. These won’t go into production till next year however the line-up we will be offering will be as follows: Black/Khaki PP Kits PP Finished Helmets (any variation you like) ABS 1.5mm Helmets ABS 2mm Helmets Full kit with PP Helmet Full kit with ABS Helmet Lots to choose from! Excited to make some more of these and continue to offer Anons great work. ANH PP Stunt ANH ABS Stunt ANH PP HWT/ST ESB PP Stunt1 point
