Hello everyone, My name is Gari from Las Vegas, NV. I was an approved TK from very early 2000’s. I had to stop to raise kids and went back to school. Just let life do its thing, so trooping went to the side. Since I was there inactive, my number was retired. Understandable. Now I’m trying to get back. School finished awhile ago, kids a bit grown, and other projects done (ESB Boba Fett). Decided to go with all new armor since my old once is now “no longer acceptable”. I also understand this. It gave me an excuse to get new armor! I decided to go with ANH stunt from AP, and blaster factory E-11. The E-11 is already here by the way! I am aiming for Centurion straight off the bat. thank you everyone for all the intel I gathered over time here Gari TK675 (old retired number)2 points

Thanks for the IMGUR instructions. I just signed up, so let me test it out. This first image is my 20 year old TK armor that I resubmitted this month to our GML. I already got tips on what to fix, so I will do those. I also will get new armor as mentioned since I want to keep up with the times! haha... Next is my 2 year old ESB Boba that is also submitted for approval for the first time....This is just to share with Caleb. Some are from 2003 various troops (I'm the one with the blue arrow)....I hope this is not too much. If it's in the wrong place, please move. I also tried the EDIT function....1 point

Regarding gluing the back of the calves together, I think I'm going to have to find another solution there. It's almost impossible to get my boots on after having the calve armor on. The CRL says: "Greaves are loosely held closed in the back with elastic, shock cord (bungee cord) or white Velcro and are designed to remain flexible." Only the outside coverstrip is glued to the calves, the calves are left open but either overlap (outside over inside) or be held closed with velcro, like your thighs, watch the thigh closure too If you look at the back the backplate is also on an angle.1 point

Between holiday festivities, I was able to get quite a bit done. I made most of the changes mentioned in my previous post. Those where: - Adjusting height of chest, moving it up in the front. - Adding 2" nylon strapping to ammo boxes. - Gluing calves together (more on this later) - Adjusting bicep and shoulder distance - Adjusting belt and thermal detonator. - Adjusting side black wings (more still to go) Regarding gluing the back of the calves together, I think I'm going to have to find another solution there. It's almost impossible to get my boots on after having the calve armor on. The CRL says: "Greaves are loosely held closed in the back with elastic, shock cord (bungee cord) or white Velcro and are designed to remain flexible." I'm going to see what I can do to make them remain flexible and open in the back, otherwise I may have to find another solution. Velcro was working fine, maybe just some thinner velcro so its less apparent. I adjusted the black side wings some but they still need a bit more work. I really don't like the shape of the side wings I was provided when I bought the kit. I may take TerribleBen's approach and seek something else out. I also moved the strapping for the thighs further onto the side. They still need an adjustment there honestly as they are so close to the cod piece even after dropping them slightly. Something else I noticed in the pictures is the chest armor looks slightly tilted. Not sure why that was but I’ll look into it. Circling back, I think all of these small changes lead to some big improvements. I still have a few things to tackle such as those side wings, some belt changes, a missing thigh cover strip, paint, etc. I'm pretty happy with this round. Let me know if you notice anything else that looks odd.1 point

I was looking over my original Nico R1TK build and I noticed that after post-processing, that flat ridge is hardly noticeable, the foothill that extends to touch the ear cap is a bit square at the corners and I'll attempt to round it out as I work on it, but I can't make any guarantees. Here is an image of the the reference compared to the Nico ears on my original build To be honest, I was more concerned about this part of the ear cap. This is my progress on that mod currently1 point

Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advance to 1500 Advanced Tactics Awards Newsletter Editor Staff List 2023 Follow FISD Christopher Arthur (IC-81606) first began trooping with Everglades Squad in his Imperial Bridge Crew uniform in December 2018, when his father, Robert Arthur (ID-12397), joined the 501st Legion as a Staff Officer. While Christopher's enthusiasm for trooping was surely evident and akin to the excitement many troopers experience when first joining our community, what is especially remarkable is the joy Christopher found in not only interacting with fellow Star Wars fans at events but also in trooping with his father. Truly, the passion shared by Robert and his son Christopher was inspiring to witness and has reminded those that trooped with them of the potential Star Wars has in bonding families and friends together-- a unity that empowers us to be a force for good in our local and international communities. Condolences to his family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Miguel joined the Legion back in 2010, and was a treasured member of the Portuguese Garrison. He is remembered as not having the height for it, and yet he grew, whenever he put his Vader helmet on. Miguel recently lost the battle against cancer. During his life, he only confided in a few and never let his condition be a crutch or command his life. He was a good friend, a family man, a brother. A gentle but funny soul. He was retired from Legion but parted in good standing and the Portuguese Garrison keeps him in their memories, and will honor him always. Even when he was retired, he stepped up to help the Garrison when it was recovering in a tumultuous period. Miguel's funeral took place at the Alto do São João cemetery, where he will rest in power, next to his father. Three of our members were present as his honour guard. Condolences to his family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Joe 'Reich Wolff' Collesano TK/TI-47910 joined the 501st, and the 70th Explorers Garrison, as a stormtrooper in August 2017. As a historical re-enactor, he was already quite familiar with the costuming world. He wanted to switch his focus to charitable efforts and saw the opportunity in joining our ranks. He became a part of the 70th Explorers family immediately, with his outgoing personality and kindness. He was always positive, welcoming, and willing to lend his ear to anyone that needed it. Focusing on the charitable walks, hospital visits, and other efforts to support the community his heart shined bright. He was a friend to all that knew him and loved by many, especially his wife Deb. The universe is a a much dimmer place without him and he will be missed terribly by the garrison. Condolences to his family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Aldona was a beloved member of the Polish Garrison. She was welcomed to the Hall of Eternal Legionnaires in October of this year, and will be remembered well by her family, friends, and Garrison. Condolences to her family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Greetings all Can you believe it is November already! Time seems to jump into Hyper space as we draw close to the end of the year, and we work to get a few more things completed before the holiday season. The Night trooper CRL is under construction and with a few prospective builds getting closer and closer, hopefully we can have it complete by January. Exciting!! More detailed images are appearing on the Interwebs, removing guess work for members wishing to build their costumes with better accuracy. Check in on the new Night trooper and captain Enoch sections to stay abreast of these two exciting new costumes, and certainly play a part in their CRL creation. A CRL is not approvable without a model and complete set of images, this could be you receiving kudos for a First in Legion approved costume and FISD's latest. Enoch will be a predominantly new, base up CRL build, following only a few cues from the Night trooper CRL. We are working closely with a few vendors more experienced in fabric to get as close as possible to the colours and textures for both these costumes. We greatly appreciate their input and knowledge. These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time!
