The Denix MG34 converted into a Stormtrooper/Sandtrooper DLT-19 Imperial Heavy Rifle is finally finished, thanks to a good friend who machined for me not one, but two versions of the side box. One pristine version in thinner aluminum and a second one, weathered, in solid steel. I used the weathered steel one, and keeping the aluminum box as this could be cool to use on a lighter resin/wood/aluminum DLT-19 some day. He also made the disk. The cool thing is you don't really need any type of glue for the cover, you simply insert it carefully in the slots of the DLT-19 and it will stay there without any problems. I could have used some E-6000 glue, but I didn't feel it was necessary. Now it looks like the screen used DLT-19 rifles with the added T-tracks, side disc and box.2 points

It looks very cool in real life! I need to mess around with it more and make it not so bright. Had a busy weekend with Thanksgiving so haven't had the second I'm going to reprint as well since I just learned about a settings to make it more transparent which might look cool!1 point

Welcome to FISD Abi. The cover strips should not affect basic approval. It is however up to your GML1 point

That is entirely up to your GML some are stricter to others, I would trim the corners so you don't hold up your approval process1 point

The Endor Finders gloves are much nicer than the TrooperBay offering in my opinion. Cut the inner fuzzy liner out if you live somewhere with a warm climate! https://www.endorfinders.com/shop/tfa-stormtrooper-gloves Everything I've seen from StormtrooperStore is hot garbage.1 point

Congrats on your BBB! I essentially am in the same place you are (just a lot of Step 1 as noted by @justjoseph63, lol) I have tagged your thread to follow and I will see if I can get focused enough to stomach the initial cut of ABS on mine too.1 point

35. 2023-11-22, Guard Duty, Stockholm (Hero) Not a lot of images from this troop, but we basically acted bouncers for an hour! When walking to the location of the event, I slipped and fell hard on my knees (winter has come to Stockholm), also hammering the helmet that I held in my hand on the pavement. I couldn't really walk after that but I still did the troop, just made sure to stand still as much as possible. It looked like I had two knee caps on each leg! Thankfully the helmet was OK! This is what I imagine the elevator to Vader's chambers could look like!1 point

Looking good for basic approval, I don't think your GML (garrison membership liaison) will point out too much, you will need clearer photos though and perhaps a better background For higher levels, EIB and Centurion you may need a few adjustments. Drop boxes not quite in line with the end of the plastic belt. Kidney overlapping abdomen on side Belt overhang could be trimmed off Could also check those detonator gaps and length. Also could down a little more on the belt. Should straps could come down on backplate Posterior hitting thighs, may need to do a little trimming Mobility cut outs look a little angular Could trim the overhang on your cover strips Belt could come up a little Shins at different heights Also elastic on shoulder straps pulling outwards, perhaps tighter strapping. Try some foam behind your sniper plate, it will help to keep it away from your thigh. Also not thigh and shin not aligned. The top of the ABS belt shall sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical ab button panels. A slight overlap is suggested, but not required. Good luck with approval1 point

Yesterday was BBB day! It was really nice to return home to this kit after a long trip to visit family (it was Thanksgiving here in the U.S.). This morning is the first time I have been able to go through everything, so I set out all of the parts for these "Before" photos for the build: I'm thinking of two potential timelines for completion. A major cosplay/gaming/pop culture convention in my area is at the end of April, so if I cannot finish the whole build by then I would prefer to have everything except the helmet complete for the con (although I know I cannot be approved until the helmet is complete). If I can't finish the whole build by the end of April, I would like to have everything completed and the costume approved by June. It seems fitting to have a cross-gender costume complete and approved in time for Pride festivities in June. With my shock trooper nearing completion, it will be great to have 2 approved costumes by the time my Legacy is complete! But I am getting ahead of myself, because I need to complete the costumes!1 point

OK, folks, as mentioned in the title this will be my final (OT) E-11 build. Before I begin, let me give you a little background: This blaster was gifted to me by a dear friend who actually received it from a fellow trooper who has unfortunately passed on, and it needed some attention. The person who did the mods obviously had great intentions, but there were some issues which I have done my best to address. Keep in mind that during the time it was created it was a work of art, but with the advent of detailed screen caps and such I have tried my best to do it justice. Side note: I have been working on this for over a year off-and-on. Is it 100% screen accurate? Nope. After receiving it I dove into research on Airsoft E-11s, and found more than a few inconsistencies (mentioned later). I'm just doing my best to make it as close to screen accurate as I can, so bear with me.... Now, on with the show. This is how it looked when I started. Great in it's day, but just so many issues. 1. Copper tubing power cylinders 2. Wrong Selector switch 3. Shroud has a piece of black PVC glued inside. 4. Wrong muzzle. 5. Missing pieces on the magazine . I will have to strip it down to bare parts as best as I can. The first thing I had to do was remove the black PVC interior in the shroud, which was blocking all the holes. I drilled them out but it looked terrible. I ended up using a blow-torch to melt the PVC. It removed the interior as well as any chance of grass growing in my future patio area, but I am pleased with the results. Here comes the most difficult part. The previous builder had WELDED some sort of odd muzzle on, Sort of like an ESB, but not quite, so It's gotta' come off and be replaced. Ugh. The end of the shroud was not too pretty either. I cut off the muzzle and was left with this: To Be Continued!1 point
