  2. For those who want a close up of Ezra and the bandages, here's a nice share from Star Wars Universe Behind the scenes. Cracks do look to be Dremeled, wraps certainly distressed and coloured in areas, perhaps just the adhesive to keep them in place. Also, plenty of loose ends Gold, looking more like paint than the Gold leaf used on the Enoch helmet, making life easier for those building this costume.

  3. So, last weekend I went to this year's ComicCon in Stockholm. 10 year anniversary, so it was a bit bigger than usual, including around 100 participating SG members! Unfortunately I had to cut it short and only attend 2/3 days because of transport issues. I went kinda ragged though so it might have been for the best with only 2 days, oh well... I did however have fun as always and used both of my armors. It was the usual, stand in photobooth, patrol a bit, greet the guests and such. You'd think we would have more snowtroopers up here but we really don't have that many. I was the only one during the first day with that armor, I got reinforced by one of the others who's also a TK on the second day though. (We need more snowies in this garrison!) Anyway that's all for this time, will add more photos if I can find any.

  4. Go back to: Troop 33 OK so additional images from the three days at Comic Con Stockholm 2023! The first batch is by Mikael Reis Andersson who needs to be credited if posted! This following image doesn't need credit! These following images are taken by fellow TK Acke Hallgren (TK-28599) Our little mini trooper She is soon going to need a new armor as she is growing out of it, just like her sister did before her! Here I felt cold sweats and getting nauseous so I marched straight for the changing room! The following images are taken by fellow TK Andreas Engström! (TK-24269) The first time I tried the Spack Pack and the pointy pose The pack is further down here in these images, but as I see it, I was "the left one" which has the pack around the same height! Making the pilot pose! PHEW that was a lot!

  6. 81. Montessori of Ladera Ranch Annual Fall Festival - Ladera Ranch, CA - Sat., 11/4/23 (ANH-S #54, FTE #63) @Dsposato0 and I also got some Imperial marksmanship training in while we were at this troop! Not surprisingly, we didn't hit anything. (You know it's hard to see out of those helmets!)

  7. It's not as popular as the OT armour, let's not forget, but obviously there are more reasons one wouldn't build a specific costume than just a CRL, so let's not leave that small detail out. Sorry Justin, that's not actually correct. You can have it at basic level, clearly you might have missed that point. Never been excluded, nor do I feel it should be. It's not about the material the blaster is made of, it's about the bells, whistles and embellishments for a higher level. Don't forget, this is not about uprooting the entire blaster section of the CRL, this is a proposal to go to a trial and if the LMO's agree then we will trial it. If it works, that's great, if members see merit, even better. If it doesn't work, the CRL's still have intact the blasters basic, EI and Centurion levels there. Not everything will be meaningful to everyone, we are all different, but if you don't see this might be a little fun for some, then that's ok too. Well, this is not a factual statement in the sum of all its parts. We haven't made the CRL's more difficult for any member to achieve 501st approval. That level is still very much the same, aside from some minor tweaks to errors. Lvl 2 and 3 is up to the detachment to set the standard, and we do, as all the other detachments do. The reason we are even considering this is to expand on what is allowable and keeping with the standards. This has never been, nor should it be, everyone wins a participation prize. Strive like others, and you are rewarded, no one is forced to take on the higher levels of approval, nor should they be. @equuspolo absolutely is a great example of how darn good these costumes can look, and he stepped up to the plate and some! His concerns are another reason we are here with this proposal, but we aren't going to throw the baby out with the bathwater in taking a backwards step on the standards we currently have. Enhancing this is the idea, and who knows how that will look in the future. At minimum, this offers a starting. There won't be a perfect solution that makes everyone happy, it would be delusional to think one could, and I am a realist. A middle ground is generally the best way forward, and this is what we are attempting to achieve. We are not a prop replication club, and in saying this, there are other Detachments with far harder to achieve standards than the FISD. I've heard from other legion staff that we strike a pretty good balance or middle ground on how we go about our CRL's and higher awards. That is something for every member to be proud of. FISD, very much like all other detachments, take the stand-out differences that give some form of separation between costumes. For us, we have very similar costumes across the genres, more than most, well aside from the CTD (Clone Trooper Detachment) lol, that's insane how many they have, but we need to identify those difference and make them "stand out", so we have the number of CRL's we do. If this proposal is not for you, vote how you see fit, it's all we expect from everyone who wishes to partake.

  8. In retrospect, I never did put the helmet on in the video to prove I can also get my head in lol. But yes, of course I can. Even better is that it is a perfect fit. The offset the electronics and padding creates at the top is exactly at the height I need to have my head aligned in there right so my eyes are perfectly lateral to the socket centerpoints. Moreover, the four additional helmet padding I placed near my cheeks and ears causes a very snug fit, it isn't floating or going anywhere as I move my head around. Also, the depth the junction box creates actually rests against my chin gently creating a four point lock system. Anyway, I'm certainly a happy camper it all worked out and thought maybe all this demonstrated work could help others in their endeavors to create something similar.
