Thank you kindly everyone! It survived the first mall mission almost unscathed. Even some rougher handling by overenthusiastic children and teens and me bumping into the rubber .... uh ... handle?... of an escalator. Easily polished out while wiping the sweat out of it. Only thing that did not survive were the plates for the back of my hand on both sides. Adhesive was sweated off i believe, so we stitched them on now, seeing how round two goes later today. Bit sad that my good long leather gloves are sacrificed, but for some reason the nomex gloves i wanted are unable to be delivered from most stores i tried - or it is knockoffs i do not want. Yesterday was a blast however, we made people's days left and right, mall security saluted us first and some of the more geeky stores started friendly banter on who gets the officer and his trooper next. They even entrusted me a Boba Fett Nerf Blaster to patrol the mall with so i had at least something to carry in my hands. Once i got the detonator done i'll post more and tackle my boots for a more or less quick application to the German Garrison.3 points

I got my first crack after 33 troops, not a bad run. I decided to try something different, having had to work with fibreglass building my death trooper costume, I picked up some new techniques. Here is the crack in the chest piece at the neck line. Materials used: UV resin paint brush tape UV light scissors Bondo fibreglass cloth sandpaper First, I taped the outside side of the crack to align it and hold everything in place. Next I brushed on a thin layer of UV resin and cured it. Took about 10 seconds Next, I cut a piece of the fibreglass cloth to cover the area . Then I painted on.another thin coat of resin, applied the cloth onto the wet resin and then dabbed another layer of resin onto the cloth to soak it in. Once this was done, I cured it again I then added a few more layers of resin curing them as I went. Finally, I sanded the repair smooth with 11pm grit sandpaper There was a slight edge to the repair, so I sanded it with 220 grit sand paper, then buffed with 1000 the 2000 grit sand paper and finished with Novus polish All repaired in less than 5 minutes2 points

#23 So today we were back at the Riverside museum in Glasgow to support Glasgow Children's Hospital charity 3K and 10k walks. It was a fun day waving the participants off at the starting line and welcoming them back at the finish line. We joined in the warm up sumba class and did the Congo to the starting line.2 points

Hello @LordUzkost66 Kira! I call Seattle home! I miss it. I am in Kansas City now after a stint in Brooklyn, NY and Atlanta. @gmrhodes13 and @Nairy are the right folks to be talking too! They have been helping me build my first costume. It's been two steps forward, 1.5 steps back. I recently purchased TK AM armor from Dave's Darkside Depot. From my understanding it is the most complete armor you can get. That said, you still have to spend a lot of time trimming and fitting. There is a ton of information here. And the team does a great job managing all the information. Even with that, it can be overwhelming. Happy to chat about the build experience if you decide to go that route.2 points

Greetings fellow members, It is with heavy heart we mourn the loss of a fellow trooper, ex staff member, and friend to so many across Legion. The detachment offers its sincere condolences to TK14057 Marcus Dohring's family, friends and garrison members. Buckets off. CRL Workflow Update The Rebels animated series Stormtrooper CRL has undergone a minor update to now include the Chimera insignia on the pauldron. It was also brought to my attention this CRL had no synopsis, so this has also been rectified. Synopsis: Stormtroopers were the foot soldiers of the Galactic Empire, tasked with enforcing order throughout the galaxy. They wore armor similar to that of the clone troopers of the Old Republic and were considered the spiritual successors to the clone army. Stormtroopers under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn had the ability to wear the Chimera insignia, as seen in the animated series Rebels. This appeared on the pauldron showing absolute dedication to their commander. Fun News Private Collectors original screen identified Hero Stormtrooper armour has come up for auction. It's great to see this almost complete set, (images available in the Gallery section of our forums), and some lucky/wealthy collector will become the new owner in less than 30 days time. Looks like the current bidding is at $200,000, and it could well go for far more that that given the extreme rarity of Hero armour, especially a near complete set such as this. LFL have some of the Luke hero armour in their archives, but that seems to be missing the limbs, or at least matched to that set. That leaves one other know set out there in the wild of private collections. Now if i can just get that Lotto win, I'd be in with a chance lol!! Ultimately, we all hope it goes to a good home and someone gets to truly enjoy it. This is that same kit several years back now. Gino from EFX was able to make molds off the inside of this kit, every part, but sadly they never released the actual product for sale. To this day Gino is the only one with a full ABS pulled set from this beautiful masterpiece. Looks like some yellowing has occurred since the below image was taken back circa 2013. If you are lucky to get to a SW Celebration, he's has had his set on display a few times. More Fun News: A little while ago, I started a discussion with fellow staff on creating some FISDcentric screen savers or backgrounds for our members to access offering another fun way to represent your favorite detachment on lap tops and PC's There are future plans to include mobile device formats as well. TK23592 Nairy jumped at the chance and put together some truly awesome and fun designs. Today we are releasing the first of a series of these backgrounds, available to all members, so keep an eye on the Announcement section of the forums where these will be permanently housed and ready for use. More Merch To Look Forward To: As we close out on some awesome FISD merch runs, there is another in the wind. You would have seen pre interest threads recently, so be prepared for the official run in the near future. As always, if you don't want to miss out, visit the forums at least once a month to see what is going down. James has done an outstanding job of creating loads of notice for each and every merch run this term with interest threads and pre interest threads running for at least a month each time. We still manage to have members miss out even with big lead ups and runs that are open for a month plus, so please head my sage advice and come visit the forums so you don't miss a run. With Unquestioned Loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 "Sly11" Detachment Leader Greetings Troopers! Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support, I appreciate all of you. I very much enjoy being your MBO, and look forward to getting more exciting merch out to you this term. The FISD Pin run is complete. All the pins (that were completely paid for) have shipped. There are still a few members that haven't paid for shipping, please contact me if you haven't received your pins. The FISD small and large shield patches have been submitted to Legion/LFL for approval. Once we get the approval the run will open with the troopers that submitted to the interest form. The FISD shield stickers are still available! They will be available until the end of the legion year, so roughly February 2024. With Unquestioned Loyalty Caleb Mask TK-73692 "MaskedVengeance" Attache Ambassador The FISD Master Armorer program is an optional, detachment only incentive award to recognize individuals who have directly helped another 501st stormtrooper to achieve Expert Infantry status. Some people spend countless hours helping others, and want to reward their results as well as incentivizing new people to help as well. To register a “win” in the program, the assistance must have provided hands-on help trimming, building, and/or fitting of said armor for the person who was awarded Expert Infantry status. More information can be found here Want to setup a "Fire Team? the Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion Stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here. For those interested here is the original discussion on the creation of Fire teams here With Unquestioned Loyalty Mark Ryner TK-4584 "captsafe66" Fire Team Relations So what exactly are and levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Questions about fitting, repairs, CRL standards/requirements or anything pertaining to reaching Levels 2 and 3 are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Keep in mind that no question is too small, and that your queries will only be seen by the D.O. Staff.
