  1. I own the Master Replicas (MR) blaster as well as a genuine ANH conversion plus other Imperial blasters. The MR is very nice, made of steel, thus heavy and not quite good for tropoping, and comes with mirrored display case, numbered plaque and COA. It is an idealized version of the Sterling with t-tracks and scope. It is also lacking greeblies alas, no Hengstler counter and no mag cylinders, though you can add those - they intended to make a second version with those added greeblies, a member of another forum owns the prototype blaster with those add-ons. As mentioned by others the charging handle and the slot are missing, and this was intentional, as this was a Star Wars replica that was to be sold as an Imperial blaster and not a Sterling. Again MR E-11 is an idealized replica made mostly of steel. In the end it displays very nicely, but the price depends on your budget and willing to buy one. If you are in Europe I'd be wary of ordering Blaster Factory E-11, even unassembled, because you never know what they will say at the customs and you might end up without the blaster and money too. Not to mention the expensive shipping costs and VAT and customs taxes. As for value, MR pieces usually hold their value and many increase in time. But there is a limit to which they can increase to and not go beyond that. It all depends on the prop/helmet/model in the end. MR Stormtrooper blaster is a very nice piece, but not the most expensive MR collectible. I bought my MR AT-AT Signature Edition in 2009 for $900 shipped, now it can be sold for $6000-7000 plus shipping. So depends. From top to bottom: MR, ANH real deal conversion, ROTJ real MGC conversion, ESB/ROTJ RS Prop Masters stunt resin blaster (aka Pugman)

  2. Long discussions on this one in the past, the 501st members were seen as extras and not front/main characters as such only the amror made for the actual show is taken for the CRL. Some 501st members also appeared in Obiwan Remnant Stormtroopers all wore Rogue One era armor.

  3. I'm sure you know better, but all I've heard is that Italy has pretty liberal gun laws, so getting a deactivaded sterling might not be so difficult after all in your case. It might be worth looking up.

  4. So a question. Mask one?? or mask 2??

  5. This is correct, but we build them, i submit them to the LMO team who all go through it and if they want changes made, that then comes back to me to discuss with the member building the costume. The LMO may also discuss it further with the member. If they say no, then that's where it stops until the member makes costume corrections and in turn we update the CRL appropriately. Finally it is Green lit, appears in our CRL list and members can start building to it.

  6. Day 2 Progress, all large trimming complete. Sore wrists, blisters & cuts included. First off, the trimmed lot. Actually, I have not trimmed the boxes & some of the smaller strips. But those aren't pictured anyway. A great way to measure success for a day. The trimmings pile. For my own understanding, it helps to just lay the parts out and note where they will eventually be mounted. Here are all the boxes. A fair number more than my Imperial TK! It's been a long day, but I still have all my digits so I count it as a success. Another day, another step closer to completion.

  7. Alright, managed to get (pretty much) all of the wrists done today so I'm super happy about that. (Aside from the left bottom panel arm thing where I still need to clear out some ABS, but I can do that in the morning so I don't wake my neighbors.) Tomorrow if I'm not too busy hopefully I can start on the elbow trimming, which I'm just going to get rid of all the return edge there as well.

  9. Thanks, and after having enduring a long tiresome game of warhammer for the past 4 hours I really want to get back to work on this lol. (I really don't like playing it for some reason even though I play other tabletop miniature games.)

  10. In that case , the crl for high levels is specific talking about "CLIPS" and not "clip" to attach the TD CRL OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned with little to no gap between the clips and the end caps.

  12. I may be wrong, but didn't they PUG in 501st guys for some of the scenes where they needed lots of troopers in season one of The Mandalorian, and wouldn't that mean that you'd have ANH, ESB, or ROTJ armor running around in those scenes as that's what they'd have. which would go to my original question. Not trying to argue the point to much, I understand there is a standard. However, when we're talking about ANH, ESB, ROTJ and ROTK, the standard is meant to keep members from doing mismatched combinations of the armor which for the purpose of this conversation that's perfectly understandable. In regards to Remnant troopers... If, we apply the existing standard that the armor must be standardized to the movie that it is intended to be from, no mixing parts except where there is screen evidence to justify it, then the only changes are the weathering of that armor and the weapons allowed to be carried. Having served in the military, I know from experience, the military just doesn't care. I was issued a M1 steel pot well after Kevlar was the standard Issue helmet, and a Vietnam Era M-16 well after the M-16A2 was standard issue. This is by no means a new phenomenon, numerous photographs show Marines in WWII wearing a hodgepodge of web gear that was WWI and WWII issue. A cartridge belt is a cartridge belt, if it is serviceable, they'd issue it. I highly doubt the empire would be any different in regards to field gear. There are exceptions, just like the modern military, they'd care a lot about "Class A" Dress uniforms. If you're gonna be standing in formation in front of Lord Vader, you better be squared away. If you're stationed on some backwater like Tatooine, where you're on the far end of the supply chain or humping it in the field only the most ate up of officers is gonna care whether the helmet matches the armor. Your issued a new helmet, It's serviceable, you put it on and get back on patrol regardless of whether it's a different model number from your armor. Just my two cents on the matter, like I said, I served in the military and have spent the last twenty years doing historical reenacting with various museums around the state of Texas. I have impressions dating from War of 1812 up to Vietnam War, so this is speaking from my experience. 16. Of course with any CRL feedback may be given by staff or members prior to submitting to the LMO's, this is for transperancy. I've not had a full look at the text, just a glance just this minute and appears a few items which are different from other FOTK CRL's, personally I think all base CRL's should be consistent, we already have issues with game CRL's which aren't consistent and cause issues. One in particular is the abdomen side seam, this has been discussed previously with the other FOTK CRL's. I will have to go into the rest in more detail at a later stage.

  18. Ah. might've forgotten that thread existed lol, thanks. For now what I've decided to do is just trim down the wrists because I know those at least need to go all the way down. After a bit of practice on some spare ABS I think the first one turned out pretty great, isn't make a few adjustments with my razor, just to get it rounder if need be.

  19. I had thought the ammo pack would cover the small gap. I was wrong. Is it better to leave or try and use paste to fill in the gap? My ammo pack came with about a 9 mm return edge. I read one post that it should be around 3-5 mm. Should I remove? I personally would rather leave if I can just because trying to remove 4mm is more hassle than it's worth and it could result in more issues. Also is that off set too much? Small gap in back. Fill with paste or leave? The blue tape on the ammo pack is were I would be making cuts. Blue tape is what I would be removing. Should the ammo pack align with the back corner? As long as I can get the sniper plate to glue correctly, is the alignment ok?

  20. This is what the Legion Site says Who publishes New CRLS? The Legion Membership Officer (LMO). The LMO has the final say on what goes into a published CRL. You can read the complete text here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide

  21. Just when you think you've seen everything, down another rabbit hole, here's an odd E-11, this Hero "Live" version has a missing T-track on the right side of the barrel and added T-track pieces to the left side around the lug. Does appear there is missing paint on the right side were the T-track would have been glued. I could imagine this mod may have been carried out so when it was fired it would expel barrel flash on the outside of the wearer (if holding right handed) but who knows. T-tracks and grip also have some weathering, these had been known as plastic so shouldn't of had any weathering. Comes with a letter of authenticity. Description Imperial Stormtrooper Hero E-11 Blaster from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope with Signed LOA from Producer Gary Kurtz (TCF, 1977). This screen used blaster is one of the "live" weapons used during the filming of Star Wars. Bapty & Co., the legendary British movie weapon makers/suppliers, based this weapon on a British Sterling submachine gun which was dressed for the studio. Loaded with blank ammunition during filming, it produced realistic smoke and recoil effects when fired, making the actors look as though they were actually firing laser bolts. Included with the Blaster is a signed LOA from Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz stating (in part): "This is to confirm that the Stormtrooper blaster prop you have purchased is from my film archive. This was one of the 'live' weapons used during filming of Star Wars. Once filming had finished the guns were returned to the weapons hire company which had loaned them to the production. All extraneous parts and dressings added for the filming were removed and the guns went back into the company's armoury. This gun is the original Sterling sub machine gun used in Star Wars, and the additional dressing (sight, grips, cut down cartridge casing, etc.) are also all original film used pieces. The only replacement piece is the metal bracket holding the scope to the body of the gun. This gun has been deactivated and restored to its original screen used condition as seen in Star Wars. This Stormtrooper Sterling machine gun is one of those guns (now deactivated to conform to British firearms regulations), bought back by the Kurtz / Joiner archive in 2003..." Measures 19.5 in. long. Exhibits production use with scuffing to black paint with some oxidation to exposed metal parts. Comes with the original deactivation certificate issued to Bapty when the weapon was rendered non-firing. Provenance: Profiles in History Hollywood Auction 22, July 29, 2005, Lot 171.5 Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. Auction link I had thought this could possibly be the actual blaster as you can see light on the right side of the barrel so it appears to be missing a T-track BUT it has a different scope (lug on right side of scope) A small amount of barrel light here too so appears this blaster is also missing a T-track If anyone does have any images of this "Live" version blaster please do share them. 46 years on and we are still finding details.

  22. Look I agree that the pauldron parts don't match the references as tightly as we may like, but I think as Justin mentioned, we can look to update this at a later date. If we add dimensions, that makes it difficult for GML's and members alike, we don't measure distances on a basic level as we don't handle the approvals, we just build the CRL. Will some complain, yep some always do! but for higher levels, that's where we can be more picky and make more stipulations. Not every CRL model is Centurion level, although it is desirable, this is a partly new to legion costume. What we can't control is any given GML saying no that pauldron isn't right compared to references, and trust me plenty of GML's out there do use reference images to do exactly that. I would suggest, for EI or centurion we get down to closer referencing of subject matter, and make the pauldron part of that. There are plenty of costumes getting around legion that look far from the picture, in general we are pretty darn good, so we cant make this up in higher levels. Purely my opinion and as always, happy to be wrong

  23. Getting to be the warm up act for the Colorado Symphony was an honor and a privilege. And pretty fun. It's great to have a Star Wars specific event where everyone is glad to see us in equal measure. Getting to see A New Hope backed by a great orchestra was an amazing experience I am lucky to have had. Lots of great fan interactions. So many smiles, makes it all worth it.

  26. SRS - Fort Collins Comic Con 2023 - 2 days A great small con in Northern Colorado. Saturday was slow but Sunday was a lot more active due to the cosplay red carpet. Keeping an eye out for any rebel activity. Room for one more. [Updated: Got featured on the 501st Instagram. Woohoo!] The only thing that keeps me from staying in armor all day is a bathroom break. Assigned to intimidate the rebel legion. Success. Got in a little scuffle trying to detain a known Imperial outlaw. Armor held up to a saber as well as expected.
