Troop 32 Fan Expo Canada - Day 3 Toronto, Ontario Aug 26, 2023 We did our Garrison photo before the con opened. We had a pretty good turn out with about 70 members in costume. It was fun to have several TK’s kitted up, so we took advantage of the Tantive 4 set before the show opened.4 points

Troop 33 Fan Expo Canada - Day 4 Toronto, Ontario Aug 27, 2023 The final day was pretty much the same format as the previous 2. Did a 2 hour shift on Blast-a-Trooper and hung around the set for photo ops with guests. In the morning before the show opened, I stopped by the Disney+ booth that had props from Ashoka on display as well as a cool 360 degree camera video to try. Got some cool screen captures from it.3 points

Troop 31 Fan Expo Canada - Day 2 Toronto, Ontario Aug 25, 2023 Took it a bit easier today trooping the morning and then spending the afternoon with family before doing a short costumed period in the evening. Got to show off my shiny white armour to my brother. We saw ANH together in the summer of 78 at a theatre in California. He cried because he wanted to see “Benji Come Home”. We still do not let him live that one down to this day.3 points

Troop 30 Fan Expo Canada - Day 1 Toronto, Ontario Aug 24, 2023 We had a huge set this year for Fan Expo with a Hoth set, Jabba’s throne room, our droid scrap yard with speeder bike and the Tantive 4 corridor. Also blast a trooper was back in full force. I over did it a bit today with 2 troops back to back spending 5 hours in costume, then took a 90 minute break, then kitted up for another 3 hours. I learned my lesson when my feet rebelled that evening and eased up over the next 3 days. Photos of our sets Oh and did I mention, we had a full sized Tauntaun? Had to take this shots in costume. My son and daughter-in-law visited the booth for a photo op as well.3 points

OK all you awesome white armor types, I am officially back, and so DANGED happy to say that! As a few of you may know, I went through some health and personal issues over the last few months which has precluded me from being around, but thanks to lots of physical therapy and just plain refusing to give up I am back in the saddle and ready to take on the world! Although I won't be able to wear the HWT pack any longer I should be able to suit up in my regular armor within a few weeks. That being said, I signed up for a troop in Nov. so that gives me a goal to get my Stunt polished up so I can get back to putting some smiles on some faces and meet some of more of my new Squad members! My apologies for not getting back to you (yet) if you have PM'd me. I have a lot of catching up to do, so thanks for your patience! Also, a big THANKS to all those (especially Andrew, Paul, Mario, Chemi and Caleb) who went above and beyond. Now that things are back to normal I will be here 7 days a week as I have for 7 years until this setback. Please feel free to hit me up with any questions about armor or builds or just say hello. I love you guys and gals of the FISD... my second family. It's good to be back home here.2 points

So have been talking with CS about this but need to post it here as well. My Pauldron came in and was submitted, and accepted, for an accessory of the Rebel TK for the CRL. Insignia is a decal.2 points

SRS - Fort Collins Comic Con 2023 - 2 days A great small con in Northern Colorado. Saturday was slow but Sunday was a lot more active due to the cosplay red carpet. Keeping an eye out for any rebel activity. Room for one more. [Updated: Got featured on the 501st Instagram. Woohoo!] The only thing that keeps me from staying in armor all day is a bathroom break. Assigned to intimidate the rebel legion. Success. Got in a little scuffle trying to detain a known Imperial outlaw. Armor held up to a saber as well as expected.2 points

Troop 29 Fan Expo Canadian Citizenship Ceremony Toronto, Ontario Aug 24, 2023 This was a pre Fan Expo troop in which 91 people were awarded their Canadian citizenship. They posted 2 stormtroopers to stand as honour guard at the door. After the ceremony, we all posed for photos and mingled with the crowd. New citizens were given a pass to attend the Con later that afternoon. Lots of fun and great to see people so excited to get their citizenship. Suited up and ready to trek across the convention centre. Making the trek through the convention centre, navigating elevators and escalators and posing for the obligatory elevator selfie. Next we stood as honour guard and greeted guests coming into the ceremony Grabbed a quick phot with an RCMP Mountie. Post ceremony group shots2 points

Whew... what a weekend. We basically finished the entire build with exception of the thermal detonator, the tube stripes and painting the visible screws on the helmet white. Added first padding here and there to make it more comfy. Vambraces now fit great and do not move around as much. Especially the hips on the corset remain a problematic area for me once the belt with the boxes is on and the thighs+knees are hanging from there too. With the padding it is bearable. Have yet to make a fully kitted out picture so far. Taking pictures took a backseat role once we delved deep into "We wanna have this done for Sunday's event!". We cleared some more space on the eyes in the faceplate, as what i had before with an assembled helmet was extremely little. Now with the visor i at least do not touch it with my eyelashes anymore. The visor has been trimmed down a good chunk from that last picture up there. Lenses are as close to the eyes of the faceplate as we could get them. Did i make it to the event? No. No i did not. Thanks to some all-nighters we pulled we fed the local mosquito and other bloodsucker population a good deal. One of them got me that good that my left leg no longer fit in the shin armor and was swollen. Moral of the story? "Sometimes you lose, sometimes the others win." After a little and well deserved break we're going to add some white foam to the space between helmet and ear pieces to tidy this area up more. Fan installation is going to be fun, figuring out the best positioning and airflow given how little space my head has in there. Good on me for having bought the smaller version from Henry's Helmet Fans, three 30mm ones. If anyone got recommendations for placement in general on FemTK buckets i'm all ears! Last but not least - anyone got a good source for the tube stripes in black in europe by any chance? I'd like to not pay more shipping than actual item cost if possible. Drawing them by hand or trying around with selfmade stencils wasn't that good yet. But we will keep trying regardless. Thank you to anyone that followed up till here, in a couple days a full picture of me in the kit is sure to follow! And after that the application for the German Garrison once i got the thermal detonator and possibly shoes worked out.2 points

*TX-41691 Space Marine Re-Enlistment Ceremony - San Clemente, CA - Tues. 8/15/23 Not an official event, but figured I'd share some fun pics if you missed them on Facebook. FISD members of the Southern California Garrison and Imperial Sands Garrison showed up in force to support a friend and confuse some surfers. Our club brother Lucas is the kind of awesome, outgoing guy that you know would show up in plastic spaceman armor to support you in a heartbeat if you asked and he deserved a proper sendoff to go become a Space Marine for the glory of the Emperor. Wishing him the absolute best on his branch transfer from the Marines and re-enlistment into Space Force, and upcoming training in Colorado. Photos by Karen S. (1st) and Zachary D. (remaining) Some fun facts by the numbers! In these photos there are: - 11 ANH-S Stormtroopers & 1 Inferno Squad Cdr. Iden Versio (Lucas' girlfriend) - 2 additional Marines in armor - 4 EIB & 3 Centurions - 2 GMLs & 2 FISD Attaches - 5 different armor makers (ATA, RS, Anovos, MTK, AP) - 3 troopers who appeared in The Mandalorian - 5 troopers who appeared in Obi Wan Kenobi - 2 out of 6 total FISD Armorers - 1 trooper who it was her first time wearing her armor out, all the way up to a GML who has been trooping for almost a decade - troopers who live less than 20 minutes away, to troopers who drove at least an hour to arrive by 7am Pretty cool turnout to support our buddy during his ceremony!2 points

If you are making a Phasma you could post in the build thread area and start your own build thread https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/197-captain-phasma-build-threads/ Not many use the Do3D files as they were found to be not very accurate. Clips are too square and oval holes appear too big. You may want to check against some references depending on what version you are making, you can also check the FOTK photo reference areas as many pieces are the same BUT there are differences with the clips on TFA to TLJ. You can request files for the clips here1 point

Great to read you had a great time !. The first trooping let you see how the armor behaves and make the necessary adjustments . Congrats and looking forward for your advances. Keep it up.1 point

Looking good, great to hear you had an amazing time Many can't sit but a few of us can depending on armor and gaps, you should still be able to sit on a corner of a table or arm of chair.1 point

Indy PopCon was phenomenal! I had so much fun cosplaying as a femtrooper, and I received so many compliments and excited looks from so many different people! I also took advantage of a photoshoot (with Bengal San Photography; gotta give credit where it is due)! Here are some of the best photos from the photoshoot: One of my big concerns heading into the con was whether the strapping on my leg and arm armor would hold up against days worth of movement. Sure enough, all of the strapping held up without concern! Naturally, however, one of the straps holding my front torso armor to my chest armor disconnected during the photoshoot, and as I found nothing broken afterward, I think it was because I did not secure it properly (once I reconnected it, it held for the 6.5 more hours I was out and about). Not smearing my makeup ended up being my chief concern throughout the day, so I'll pat myself on the back for my armor-making capabilities! Two issues that need rectifying came to light during the con. First, I developed armor bite on the outside of my knees from the bottom edge of the thigh armor. By the end of the day yesterday (Saturday), I was certainly feeling it, and despite the armor bite not breaking through the leggings I was wearing, the rubbing marked my skin. I'll need to further trim and sand this problem area. Second, my shoulder strap armor would not stay put! This problem can be seen in the photos above. Although the snaps I used to keep the shoulder strap armor secured to the shoulder straps works very well, the shoulder strap armor would rotate as I moved. I think I'll correct this by gluing the shoulder strap armor to the chest armor and allow it to float over my shoulders and over the top of my back armor. But back to the fun, I wore my armor for about 2.5 hours on Friday evening. I attended the drag show at the con and got used to walking around the convention center during this less busy time of the con. The next day (Saturday), I was out and about for 3 hours in the morning to do the photoshoot, briefly scope out the vendor hall, and talk with others in cosplay. After a break, I was back out for, surprisingly, 6.5 hours! This included a couple of panels, more perusing the vendor hall, watching the cosplay contest, and attend that evening's drag show! Needless to say, spending most of the day on my feet hit me late in the evening, so I slept well once I returned to my hotel room! I knew going into this that sitting is not really the greatest skill of a stormtrooper (just like how my marksmanship mysteriously degrades when I wear my armor), but the fact that I could not sit was very apparent throughout the day. It's a good thing my boots were decently comfy! All in all, I had a fantastic time! I got many, many compliments and excited looks from others throughout the con, and I get to see myself looking so badass in my photos from the photoshoot!1 point

[55] 11.08.2023 -- Elbenwald Festival, Day 1 Once more I had the pleasure of getting to troop at Elbenwald Festival. The nerd Festival would be protected by a hundred troopers that weekend, we'd have a droid hunt, support the security at the entrance and help on stage. Many who had been there before had been looking forward to trooping these three days once more, myself included. On Friday, our main event was the short parade to the stage where we would stand guard for half an hour. All of us were baking in the sun and when we were asked to dance at the end (true to the festival's theme of "The Party Strikes Back"), I could barely even move my legs. Nevertheless, it was an exhilarating start to the weekend with the masses cheering for us. Over the past years, the 501st had turned into an important fixture of the Festival and people were glad to see us once more. Carried only by glucose and the sheer energy that comes from trooping, I did one and a half hours of booth duty in full armor as well, accompanying ID-86351, who would end up doing this duty most of the time over the weekend. Ending this as the shortest of the three days, most came together in the evening to either catch up or go to the concerts together. [56] 12.08.2023 -- Elbenwald Festival, Day 2 Once more I was one of the first people in armor on Saturday, starting the day of strong with entry controls for the visitors. We found a few Grogus, some droids and suspicious people, but didn't have to arrest any Rebels. After our hour and a half of obligatory entry duty, I took it upon myself to collect all the white armor that was already running around for a group photo. Little did I know that two more TK's would end up joining us later that day. Truly wonderful to troop with such a large group of TK's. Over the day we still split into patrols. Some controlled the media center, others continued hunting droids and interrogating visitors. Towards lunch time we held another parade through the park and were spontaneously invited by the band playing the Cantina Song to once more join them in front of the stage. Afterwards most troopers suited down, the exhaustion and heat getting to us all. Knowing that I'd probably not suit up again if I left my (sweat-soaked) armor now, I decided to power through the exhaustion. With the help of some glucose, a hearty lunch and a break in the shadows with some friends I once more gathered my strength and the afternoon just flew by. I went on a ride with the park Railway, met some amazing cosplayers, collected some droids, did a bit of booth duty and never once suited down until it was suddenly evening. The newly approved TK-56347 and I ended up having so much fun at our base that both of us ended up staying in armor for over 11 hours without even a single suit-down that day -- a new record for both of us. Towards the end of the day, we got to try on the security's vests, advise some possible recruits and just goof off. We had been considering going to that evening's concert in armor as well, but ultimately decided against it once a thunderstorm started up just before the concert. [57] 13.08.2023 -- Elbenwald Festival, Day 3 The third day mirrored the previous day in a lot of facets. There was the morning brief, we took over the Railway station, collected some droids and visited the merch store. The biggest difference to the previous day was when towards lunch we didn't hold another parade but instead chose the winners of the droid hunt. I believe, the biggest cheers went up when the three year won and wasn't afraid of the Emporer who handed him the prize. Another winner, to everyone's delight, was Pikachu. In the afternoon we played a game of Quidditch (Quadball?) against a local team. Despite them playing dirty we managed to catch Grogu and took a winner photo with the team. After another patrol, I checked in with the local emergency service team as well. Last year we'd taken fun pictures with them and this year they were enthusiastic to take even better ones with us. I got a leg brace, ecg (I flatlined an alarming amount of times due to the armor), they took my blood pressure, listened to my heart and lungs, got an oxygen mask, and much more. Honestly, everything they had, they tried to fit on me. It was really fun and I got to keep the oxygen mask afterwards. Towards the end of the day I was invited on stage for the charity auction with three of my fellow troopers. I was already exhausted, but believing it to be very soon, I agreed. Then the auction got pushed back and I was suddenly facing another two hours in armor. Not enough time to suit down and relax properly, so I decided to just keep going and hope my body wouldn't give out on me. Luckily, a lady with goggly eyes came by and outfitted our troopers, providing an excellent distraction and some of the funniest pictures of the Festival. The charity auction later was a full success. I believe we raised about a thousand euros in the half hour it took. Afterwards I had to suit down immediately, the second eleven hour day finally catching up with me. Despite some bruises and blisters, it was an amazing weekend and I hope I'll get to troop this event again next year. The visitors were all so excited to see us, my fellow troopers were as wonderful and fun and in character as I'd come to see last year and the concerts in the evening were great. Thank you both! Excited to build it and hopefully wear soon. There's an event on sunday and with a bit of luck it'll at least be wearable up until then. Not yet 501st approvable as i most likely lack the right shoes, but it's going to be a start. Used the helmet tutorials a bit, but certainly need to trim a bit more again. Didn't sit as flush yet. At the same time i am a bit afraid to trim too much, so i might help myself with a bit of white foam to make it less noticeable. Going to see. Did notice i might have to trim the eyes more, as they feel incredibly close to my eyelashes right now even withouth lenses in. Here's a little overview of what is assembled already and only needs some more trimming and sanding to fit together nicely. Aaand what was done in terms of helmet today. Experimented with brow height and general fitment. Got to admit, was scary at a few parts. And on one site the bottom screw doesn't grip both of the plates of the helmet's back and face. Ironically it was the same for the owner of the blog i am mostly following the steps of, so i suppose it'll be alright. Was rather careful with trimming that whole thing.1 point

Well, it's been a long time since my last update. Sorry Glen... I contacted Blasterfactory about my lost magazine catch piece, and they graciously sent me one for free! Awesome company!!! I also contacted BlastFX and had some very good back and forth with the owner. Basically, the best solution for my fire selector problem was to send the entire system back to him for update of some components that would allow me to use the Blasterfactory rotary switch. That is going in the mail today and hopefully I'll have it back in a couple weeks. The bane of my existence!1 point
