Alright, I've mulled over different kits and read the 501st databank guidance for both the shock trooper and ESB trooper. I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on the ESB kit I've been eyeing. I'd been thinking about this for a number of days before making this thread, so now that the pieces are coming together, I think it is time to commit!2 points

I've very recently looked at all the blasters on the reference page that was shared here. What I've settled on is a Blaster Factory and a painting a Rubies. One very detailed for eventual EI and Centurion. And one very lightweight and almost disposable. For trooping? I'll have either available depending on the setting/type of troop.2 points

Hello and welcome, ultimately it would be your GML approving the armor so I would check with them first, they do have some leeway, some are stricter than others, there is a CRL image for the B type and I would think (as I am a GML) they would use this reference below. BUT in saying that if you can provide more research material proving it should be different that would be taken into consideration. I would think all of the areas are square/rectangular apart from the two top right circles. It looks from my basic research the B version backplate is from the comics, depending on which scene the details change a little, I don't think correct details was high on the priority list Two ways to tackle the backplate would be: 1 ABS sheets, cut, layer, glue, dremel, sharp knife, files to get in the corners 2 3D print, a lot of pieces props are printed these days so if you can find someone who can design the piece I would go that route. As for details it would be a case of going through the comic references, you can download Star Wars: Legacy comics here https://light.getcomics.info/Request/Dark Horse/Star Wars/Star Wars - Legacy (00 - 50 %2B War (01 - 06)) (2006 - 2011) GetComics.INFO.zip You can also view online here https://readallcomics.com/star-wars-legends-legacy-epic-collection-tpb-1-part-2/ Research is the key and the more references you have the better outcome you should have.2 points

Troop 7 part 2. The day after the Market Square troop we went out to a local area called The Great Sandhills which feature a number of sand dunes in the middle of the prairie. It's a rather interesting nature spot and it can make from some very good photos. We were there early enough to have wind swept sand with no other footprints. I didn't want to take my still new armor out into the sand so while I did pose for one silly shot I just helped get the others in and out of the area. I felt maybe you all would like to see some of the finished shots. Bart If there was any doubt that Tatooine is really in Canada you just have to look at what I'm drinking. Bart1 point

This is really important, especially for all new people overwhelmed by all this, like me. I love White Armor, but in the close to the 20 years of it being around it has amassed so much that it's completely overwhelming and hard to figure out where to start. Even with all the "where to start posts." For me, I came across two resources that have now become invaluable and are the only two resources I am following. One is this post for TK ANH Stunt build outs by @MaskedVengeance a complete one stop shop. The other was a PDF created by @MaskedVengeance based on the build post from @A.J. Hamler. For me this is end to end build documentation. Or at least a framework. I don't know if I will stick to everything and every tip. But for now I am following it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kXZnv64H9fERK9rwoCWrDxKVy_71ovbU/view?usp=sharing Now on to the show.....1 point

(21) This weekends trooping took place at Golf It and The Big Feed raising for the Catherine Mcewan Foundation crohns. We've been having a typical Scottish summer with the wet weekends but it didn't stop the Imperial Scottish Garrison from doing their thing!1 point

Hello all, it's been a while, between study and traveling for work I have been physically separated from my armour but finally back home now. Helmet is now repaired with a new hovi tip, unfortunately Glen the one I purchased from you was solid and not hollow so it would not fit over the speaker, this is my fault as I forgot to specify that. When I do eventually meet you and the rest of the garrison I shall return it to you so have your spare back. I purchased two spares from urkswrath which worked perfectly. I managed to fix my belt so the snap would engage with the other side, I didn't notice one side was slightly bent which prevented it from clipping on fully. My E11 which I purchased from Shear Tech in the UK should be arriving tomorrow, I am very excited to see it and Ill post some pictures of it when I can. All I need to do now is make some v tabs so the posterior doesn't stick out so much. It feels good to be home but there is no rest for the wicked1 point

Yeah, you'd have to create your own anyway with a Black Series bucket, they've got a different shape. Just wanted to get that info into the community for those aiming for accuracy1 point

Think I'll go with breathable blue material, venting purposes...helpful with my Hasbro bucket!1 point

I was able to go back to the park and paint my boots today! I'd say it is a good start, but I am not quite satisfied yet. I am very happy the paint is adhering to the sides of the soles, but I expected the paint to cover the fabric better than it did. I should have figured this would happen with faux suede. I talked over these results with a friend that is more familiar with fabric painting, and she recommended I use white shoe polish to provide better coverage and smooth out the suede. I am not trying to preserve the suede, as I care more that the boots are a consistent shade of white, so this seems like a good way to proceed. The suede and tan color on these boots was a comprise anyway. I could not find a pair of white women's boots in my price range that was both large enough for my feet (10.5 in men's, but 12 in women's) and did not appear like it was meant to be worn by a drag queen (I'd buy those boots if I wanted to be a drag queen, but it's not the look I am going for, even though I am technically dressing in drag with this build). As such, I bought the boots I bought, and they are quite comfortable too! We'll see how the shoe polish works.1 point

So I've gotten confirmation from a reliable source, that the blue material backing the vents in the Kenobi helmets is actually a hard but somewhat flexible "blue urethane material" similar to "tupperware". So maybe injection molded? Just wanted to put that out there for anyone seeking accuracy.1 point

This was back in 2018 for what it's worth, also he posted a link to JRS, well not all staff here are members of JRS and don't have access. If Jason is serious perhaps he should repost his photos here not link to another detachment, then all staff can view then and the background to his work so we can make an informed decision. I wasn't the DL in 2018 otherwise I would have requested he do exactly that. There is always time to clear things up, and my door is always open.1 point

In regards to Intergalactic Supply, I believe he appealed to this forum to remove his company from this list, and spelled out a perfectly sound case as to how he was put on it in the first place, which implicated the OP in a business deal that had gone bad. The OP isn't even a member of the Legion anymore, was in the same Garrison as the owner of IGS, had motive to disparage IGS. FISD needs to recognize that IGS may have been falsely accused, and also read his appeals in this very thread, including his photos of him designing his own sculps, he posted a link to his sculp progress in his Jolly Roger Squadron Thread. This one stinks, and I can tell you that Jason's work is well thought of and respected in the Carolina Garrison "First through the door, last on the floor." Pretty much every Tie Pilot, Gunner, TD, and TK in our Garrison is wearing his armor, and giving out his helmets at our hospital troops. False accusations like these drive good makers, like JJ Industries (with Kylo) out of the Legion. JJ Industries is one of the best makers in the world for SW stuff, but false accusations of "recasting" and intellectual theft did him in, now Kylos have no fabric to make TFA Kylo from, because he was the ONLY maker in the world........Knights of Ren Facebook group did Luke Daley in, and the original Dawn Bright. Therefore these dispersions need some official investigation process before they are published, and then there need to be an appeals process to remove them. Jason is a decent human being, and his work is solid. I hate that these forums have disparaged his name, as he has done and still does so much for the Carolina Garrison. I have trooped with Jason, and this is all very sad. Being an "artist" myself, and having my coding work stolen, I understand your concerns with "theft". But Jason has explained that his kits were a Frankestein of models when he bought his company, and he has worked to refresh his TK kits by creating his own unique molds with 3D printing, and he has done that. I understand the need to post where people can buy quality armor, and trustworthy supplies, but at some point in this deal, there was personal animosity between the OP and Jason, and I'm not sure why independent parties aside from OP have not investigated the claim by the OP and been more transparent about why IGS remains on this "recaster" list.1 point
