  3. ...and a special greeting to those who get the reference. Well, after a few years, several moves including a cross-country one, and dealing with oh-my-goodness-so-much death (being related to me is, apparently, a high risk activity), the Tiny TK herself is back! To prove that my time away wasn't ALL grief and taxes, here's a quick photo from Galactic Starcruiser. This was my very first foray into the excellent madness that is being a Twi'lek. Won the lekku in a raffle at a Garrison event a few years prior... Never knew I'd be using them for this! This post is mostly because as I dusted off my armor (figuratively. We all know it was kept nestled snugly in dust-free safety!), I realized I'd like to finally get that replacement ab piece I've been talking about since I first assembled my kit. It seemed odd that the ATA fb page was down, but I figured maybe I had an old link. Until I emailed Terrell and the email bounced back. ☹️ Finally found the sad news on here - how heartbreaking, y'all. Of a much lower priority, does anyone know what happened to his molds? I heard auction, but any updates since? Well, anyway, I'm still reserve, trying to fit in a troop before the census so I can get back to active. Scheduling is a challenge due to exams for my new career path, and handling estate stuff (see? I told you. So much death) but where there's a will, there's a way, and I'll see you fellow shiny whites soon. I hope your years were - and continue to be - as peaceful as possible! Aight, imma head out.

  6. I just finished my DDD kit and it’s fantastic. Now just need to find time to make the basic mods I need to get EIB and Centurion. Having a newborn slowed me down, but shouldn’t be too rough. I recommend if you aren’t thinking so, working toward centurion as his kits are pretty solid for getting there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. Great work, just make sure you clean up any sharp edges before painting, mainly around rims/ends of the armor

  8. They don't need to match each other, you can trim off the overhang

  9. I love the sight of AM thermal detonators in the morning. Seriously though, you’re gonna be very happy with Dave’s kit! And you’ll have a properly sized 68mm thermal det! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I just noticed you got your armour set from Dave's Darkside Depot as well! Wow, we must've had the same batch or something because my set from him is coming this friday. What a coincidence.

  11. Troop 28 May The North Be With You. Second Annual Star Wars Collector Convention - Day 2 Oakville, Ontario Aug 6, 2023 The second day of this convention was a toy sale for the general public. It was a bit busier but still a fun and fairly laid back troop. We were stationed with the panel guests and would often chat and fool around during down times. My parents came by as they have never been to a troop or a con for that matter. They loved seeing what we do. This was one I found from yesterday that I thought looked cool. Some shots throughout the day. Some fooling around with Larry Jacob who worked on animation for the Ewoks cartoon. A shot with my mom and dad.

  12. Troop 27 May The North Be With You. Second Annual Star Wars Collectir Convention - Day 1 Oakville, Ontario Aug 5, 2023 This was the first of a 2 day convention. Today was mainly for collectors of Star Wars toys, with guest speakers giving panel discussions through the day. We were there to interact and take photos with the guests. It was a fairly small and intimate venue with about 40 people attending and we were invited to sit in and listen to the panel discussions. Panels were given by the creative team that did the animation for the Star Wars Christmas Special, Droids and Ewoks. I got to eat lunch with John Celestri, who designed and animated Boba Fett for the Christmas Special. In addition, we were entertained by a discussion by the design and production team for Irwin Toys (Canadian branch of Kenner Toys) who created the original 12 action figures, as well as the x wing, tie fighter and millennium falcon toys. Finally the highlight was an hour and a half talk with Roger Christian, production designer for ANH and Alien as well as Second Unit director for ROTJ and the phantom menace. I was able to get Roger to autograph the inner part of the magazine on my E-11 as it was him that actually created the original blaster for the movie. … and they had Cookies Picked up a fun sticker for my bin Then sat and listened to the panels.

  13. It's not "things for your build area", but "made my life 100% easier", so I'll still comment A build thread and/or an Attaché. I only started my FISD journey once I was halfway done and had to rework almost everything later on. Having these from the beginning would have saved me a lot of work and time. Once I did join I started a build thread where I got tons of amazing feedback and my Attaché helped me with anything I ever needed help with. Made my build 100% easier. Thank you to all who commented on my build thread and to my Attaché Tino, you're the best!

  14. Hey all, please be aware that the vendor *RubberBlastersEtc should be avoided at all costs*. They have been removed from every Legion forum and the proprietor banned from the Clubs due to confirmed previous conviction of the most severe type of criminal charges. Please DO NOT support this individual or recommend/link their page, and always research and check your Detachment/relevant forums for lists of vetted vendors and those to avoid BEFORE making any significant purchases. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, I am not inviting discussion but you can PM me if you have pressing concerns. Thank you. My goal is for the only thing to show up when people Google or search any 501st forum is a post clearly stating not to support this individual. It is potentially damaging to the FISD and Legion in general when members leave reviews citing their membership and support, and members should be strongly deterred to avoid the perception that the Legion in any way approves of or is affiliated with this vendor.

  15. You could probably sand down the bottom end of the cover strip so it’s not poking out so far, but it’s looking good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
