  1. A touch closer to the edge, a bit too much white showing, but as I say I'm picky

  2. Thanks, Glen. Judging by the images, it looks like I won’t need to take off too much. I’ll start by tidying up the front bottom part of the shin and go slow from there.

  4. Hey Tim, First to answer your question. I’d say the height of shins matters and you’ll want them fairly equal, but I’d also in a sense treat them separate. The big thing I mean here is don’t necessarily measure one and then measure the other off it. Definitely size them up to your proportions. Some people surprisingly don’t have the same length of both legs. That being said as you size things remember for shins, trim from the bottom up and not top down (when making them shorter) and thighs trim from top down not bottom up. Second thing, you may need to do some shimming of the armor You can see an extreme example of shimming thighs here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47405-thigh-super-shimming-opinions/ It seems a little daunting and takes some work, but it’s not too bad actually and a great process for learning how to work with ABS paste which is also how you can fix cracks later. 8. I'm very confident it's not a suit from back in 1977, too many things on the suit which doesn't align with screen used armor. No curve on the shoulder bells. Communicator is on the wrong side. The list goes on. Anyway no matter who made it they didn't do a very good job on the large abdomen

  9. Hey all, please be aware that the vendor *RubberBlastersEtc should be avoided at all costs*. They have been removed from every Legion forum and the proprietor banned from the Clubs due to confirmed previous conviction of the most severe type of criminal charges. Please DO NOT support this individual or recommend/link their page, and always research and check your Detachment/relevant forums for lists of vetted vendors and those to avoid BEFORE making any significant purchases. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, I am not inviting discussion but you can PM me if you have pressing concerns. Thank you. My goal is for the only thing to show up when people Google or search any 501st forum is a post clearly stating not to support this individual. It is potentially damaging to the FISD and Legion in general when members leave reviews citing their membership and support, and members should be strongly deterred to avoid the perception that the Legion in any way approves of or is affiliated with this vendor.

  10. Ok You have to be careful with moving forward on oil / enamel based paints, sometime even using as mechanical approach (sanding) can push the paint deeper into the plastic before it starts to lift it out! From experience Oils can used to lift stains made by other oil based products. Have you tried a very thin oil like wd40 or baby oil? (letting it sit a while and lightly buffing with a soft cloth?) you can then go back to the soap and water to clean the fresh oil off. please note I am not an expert in paint and plastics but these methods have work for me in the past, A small test patch is always recommended before anything else. Also try stay away from any thinners as although they will lift the paint it may melt your plastic in the process! theres probably many more threads deeper into the forum that also have good ideas. Good luck

  15. Good news! The one's from Walmart work! They specifically said 5/8" on them which was helpful! Maybe I'll upgrade them in the future if there is an issue but for now this is what I'll use

  16. @riveting I am continuing to work my WTF armor. I think I can get everything to work out with some creative strap tightening! Once I everything together, I'll see if it works for me and go from there. Thanks for the suggestion. If the fit doesn't work out, I'll probably go that route. Thanks again.

  19. Depends on what glue has been used, if it's E6000 you should be able to lift a corner and pry them off. If it's more permanent glue you wont be able to remove the button covers. In that case I would make snap plates and glue on the back of the plastic setion. You should be able to bring up your thighs too How I make mine

  20. Thanks! I re-marked the rivets 10mm from where I trimmed instead. I also did the same thing with the kidney plate and it seems to line up well. Let me know what you I think!
