  1. UPDATE Well, my last post in this thread was thirteen months ago, but I just got home from an eight month deployment and decided it was time for an update. At the time of my last post I was just getting started on training, I began with nightly cardio and cutting out sugary beverages. My routine has changed considerably since then, but the biggest change has been dietary, not so much a change in the kinds of foods I’ve been eating, but the serving sizes. Recently, I’ve started a new weight training regimen consisting of 1-2 hours in the gym five days a week (M-F). I’d be happy to go into detail if anyone would like to know more, but for the time being I just wanted to post some progress here. Posting keeps a little bit of healthy pressure on me, and this journey is far from over. Keep working hard Troopers, keep making progress, it’s never too late to get started. Best of luck to all of you. Progress Troopers, Progress! Last Update: 248.5lbs Current Weight: 217.5lbs Updated Goal: 200lbs

  2. And update to this. I posted pretty much the same objective review from above on TrustPilot. I was trying to get their attention to get a refund and it worked. The owner personally called me, and he came out swinging with the most unprofessional conduct I have experienced from a business owner. I will give him credit; he did refund me my money. I won't go into details of the conversation but the negative reviews seem in alignment with what I experienced.

  3. It was, and I am happy. I did just edit it as I said he was professional. He was the most unprofessional any business owner has ever been. Just thrilled to move on and start building!

  4. Let me start off and say I am new to all this. I want to share my experience researching costumes. I didn't know about WhiteArmor.net until a couple of days ago, unfortunately. I started researching costumes and saw a few websites, but then I came across stormtrooper-costumes.com. I certainly wasn't impressed with their website but nothing else seemed to make sense to me, and their website indicated they would contact me after purchase to get me the right size of everything. The cost was upwards of $2000. I did make the transaction. I then learned about this forum and was quickly pointed to the post below. My heart sank as I started reviewing feedback on stormtrooper-costumes.com and Jedi-Robe. I don't know if they make good or bad costumes, and I won't disparage them about their costumes. I will say that I was taken aback that the negative feedback I saw on this forum was going all the way back to 2012! And it wasn't just one or two bad experiences. Also, of course, stormtrooper-costumes.com Jedi-Robe was called out as specifically a bad vendor. Since they never followed up, granted, it's only been three days to get my measurements, and with the negative feedback I saw, I requested them to cancel the order and a refund. I have not seen a response to any of the emails I have sent them. I would certainly follow the advice of this forum and the many, many, many negative reviews of On stormtrooper-costumes.com Jedi-Robe. One of the goals of this post is to make it a little easier for new folks to find this and hopefully not make the same mistake as I did. On a positive note, I was able to connect with Dave from Daves Darkside Depot and purchased a costume from him! I was very impressed speaking with him and can't wait for the costume to get here! It's like Christmas, only 10x better!

  5. Funny thing is when I started out I messaged WTF and Dave's Darkside. Dave never replied so I went with Walt! . I'm going to message Walt to see if he has any suggestions. He's away at a show this week I believe.

  6. I generally agree. I think it should specify that they are not rubber gloves for L1 and proper ones as shown/described should be L2 and up.

  7. I think its well overdue that we update the image for the gloves on this CRL. Currently it shows ANH style rubber gloves where we know they wore TFA style gloves albeit all black with black stitching. Options for language update. If updating the image, I also believe we should eliminate the rubber gloves language from basic, and just leave Nomex style. (they are closer to the correct style than rubber. If this change is made we bring the correct style glove into EI and remove level 3, or we simply don't have a lvl 2 and leave correct gloves at lvl 3 The other option is to only have the correct gloves at basic removing lvl 2 and 3 from this section, as we do in other CRL's like the TFA, TLJ These gloves are readily available and on our Vendors list. Current CRL Black in color, made of either rubber, Nomex, leather, or leather-like material, with no visible straps or logos/designs. The fingers are enclosed, non-textured. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Gloves shall not be made of rubber. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): The base material of the gloves will be a black synthetic material similar to Lycra, Spandex, Elastane, or Nylon. Palms of gloves shall be shiny black fabric or leather or leather-like material. On the index finger shall be a stitched piece of fabric made from the same material as the hand's underside that while stitched to the finger has one cutout towards the end of the finger that reveals the netted material underneath. Gloves shall have the correct leather pattern along the fingers/palm. Current Image New Image to be added

  8. Hey all! just wanted to give a quick update. I haven’t had much free time lately due to the overtime at work… Still looking at how tight I can get the backpack to sit up and whether or not I need velcro or to have an alternate backplate that allows the pack to sit more flush. I also wanted to thank you guys for all the help that you have given me during this build. And with that said I aim to keep making improvements until it’s as good as I can make it. Additionally, I wanted to show how I strapped the backpack. It actually sits like a backpack with full backpack straps that are internalized. The strapping was sandwiched in between two aluminum blocks to provide more stability to the pack itself.

  9. The Denou Novo FOTK kits look good. There are a few things however that my guess is wont be assembled from them in a state to meet Legion basic level. If you are not joining Legion with it then pay that no attention, but if you are, it will require having the side joins properly fused together of the abdomen section, and also the chest and back plate will also require the same treatment. 2 ways to do that. 1. make ABS paste to fill those seams or joins, sand then smooth them polish. 2. Use Bondo or other type of fillers sand and then repaint the armour. All armour requires an amount of work to get it up to spec to reach Legion standards, DN are a costume company, they will assemble it the quickest way possible and charge a pretty penny for it too. My suggestion is get in contact with your local garrison. See if there is any armour parties coming up where you can get first hand help, meet some members and learn plenty from the experience. To answer your other question, YES there certainly is a market for barley started armour. again contacting your local garrison may yield an excellent response from someone close buy who is looking for a kit.

  10. It's been quite the hiatus on this build, what with one thing and another... I am looking to make some serious progress on this build this coming week. Here's a pic of my boy just mucking around wearing bits while watching TV... (I'm really happy with it) Then it'll be moving on with the rest of the kit.
