  1. Hello there, I'd like to present myself as Paolo Di Michele, currently a civilian constituent of the Galactic Empire residing in Toronto, CA. In all seriousness it's great to be here; I'm a design graduate hailing from York University and it's always been a bucket list item to join the Legion. I'm in the VERY early stages of contacting my GML over at my local Canadian Garrison. I'm hoping to make some armor decisions and get started as soon as I do some more research. Anyone willing to mentor or help me get started would be most appreciated, I tend to take a more personable approach. I am everso eager to join the army of Star Wars fans internationally celebrating the craft and bring glory to our Galactic Empire. Right now I'm not completely sure what I should be doing or where I should be looking, so far I've been reading through this forum and getting familiar with the UX/UI. I'm having trouble deciding between Stormtrooper armors (ANH, ROTJ, ESB) and distinguishing the pro's and con's between "Hero" and "Stunt" armor. Does anyone have any options? Suggestions? IT IS PROBABLY WORTH MENTIONING I AM 6' 2" (not a little short for a Stormtrooper) I'm not sure if this will damper my efforts or aid my progress? Thank you in advance y'all - hail the Galactic Empire (check out some cute baby photos of me meeting the Legion for the first time versus my last encounter at Fan Expo 2022 Signing off for now, P

  4. As long as the 4 button plate color matches the 5 button plate I think you should be good to go, Tim. Fantastic job on trimming the large one, and EXCELLENT paint work! Before attaching the small plate that you will eventually be using I would suggest trimming it down (note how the raised area below it can be seen on all 4 sides in the reference pics). The corners should be fairly sharp just as you did on the large one. Reference images Keep up with this level of detail and I see a Centurion badge in your future!

  5. Hello everybody. I am Rebecca, living in Wales,UK. No garrison affiliation. I am a cosplayer and have been lurking and researching on FISD for some months. Thank you for this wonderful resource. I have learnt a great deal and would not have got as far as I have without your posts, forums, instructions, guides and images. I am most grateful. So since April I have printed a ANH Trooper armour and am in post production, setting fastenings and such. My helmet is a hot mess and badly inaccurate. I cannot now even find the stl file I printed it from, possibly has been withdrawn it was that bad. I will print another later. Right now work colleagues are super excited just to see me in it. I have no plans to join 501st. I see you guys at cons all the time and I very much appreciate the work you put in but I'm just not that committed. If my suit fits and looks OK for cosplay, it will be good enough for me.... You can all shout at me now... :-) Thanks for listening, I will update when more progress is done. Bex.

  6. Screws are not required at any level so up to you if you want to add them. I like to leave some return edge for strength Note the placement of the kidney/posterior elastic, having them closer to the ends stops the posterior wanting to come apart and leave a gap

  8. Interesting to see that there is differences in the shoulder bumps between models. That explains some of the inconsistencies I was seeing. I have the large bump plus 11 small bumps and a slightly larger bump at the end of the line. I will try and split the difference and see how it looks.

  10. Still needed some trimming done on the back plate, I just finished off the last of it and think it should be good to go.

  11. 1 would trim a little more 2. Really depends on what armor, some makes won't allow more than 1 large tab 2 & 1/2 small tabs. As you can see in the image above there is 1 large tab and 4 - 5 smaller tabs which would cover the chest (albeit a gap under the strap)

  16. Thanks Tino. I considered that, but the BlastFX comes with 3 fire modes: Semi Auto, Full Auto and Stun. I would be losing one fire mode which I don't really want to do. I can possibly do surgery on this switch to add a ground, plus adjusting the contacts somehow. It would not be difficult per-say, but could end up not working. I have sent BlastFX a PM through FB to see if there are solutions, plus I have the CO of Great Lakes Garrison possibly sourcing a switch. I just really want to get this blaster done as I am going to a troop at a Star Wars themed wedding and would like some flashy light up blasters for people to see. I'll be bringing my DLT-19 which has BlastFX, but this would be icing on the cake.

  17. You guys should try my ARMOR WHITE. Works great to restore the white your armor and can be re applied as needed with no harm to the armor or paint.
