  1. Well it’s been a while, but finally got a shipping number for the helmet. So I should be submitting for basic in the next week or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Hold on to your butts as I trimmed the posterior and added the snaps. Snaps are placed 15 mm & 35 mm (to center of snap) from the edge of the posterior.

  5. You will be more than pleased with Imperial Boots but they tend to run a bit on the small side, so I would suggest ordering at least half a size larger than what you normally wear. This leaves room for cushioned insoles (also suggested) . Since they are leather, I keep adjustable wooden shoe stretchers inside mine when not in use. Side note: I would leave the lower leg (calf) pieces until you get your boots... that way you can wear them during the fitting/sizing to ensure you leave enough room.

  6. Getting there. You need to round the end of the cod or I'll hear you scream every time you walk at a troop. Keep up the good work

  8. #1 - 5/4/2023 Burr Artz Library May 4th, Frederick, MD First troop! Only TK! My chest and ab came apart by the end of the troop (can see it in the pic below). Learned a lot about what I needed to adjust in my armor to make it more comfortable for the future. (kids in the pic are mine)

  9. Couple tips - scuff the pieces lightly with sandpaper or an emory board before gluing instead of washing them and possibly leaving soap residue. This allows for better mechanical bond and freshly scuffed plastic is "clean" by nature. Also, ensure you're clamping the material (in this case ABS, though mounting my male snaps to nylon web that conforms to the shape of the armor better is my preferred method), not the the actual metal snaps themselves. I've seen the metal react with glue and warp, and you really want the ABS to be what's glued in. Keep at it!

  11. Keep in mind that when wearing the gaskets they will raise the armor closer to the helmet. Looks like there still will be some clearence but perhaps not by much. Just thought I mention it for those following along Now…isn’t it time for a build update?
