Hmmmmm... yet ANOTHER Licensed Star Wars product depicting Captain Cardinal as a TLJ-era set of armor. Is it a disappointing miss in accuracy? Or at what point do we accept that either a TFA or TLJ variant may be acceptable? Disney/LucasFilm has now signed off a TLJ version at least... Once... Twice... And now three times with Denuo Novo, who also makes a TFA helmet and could have easily loaded red plastic into that mold. Technically more than that as well, as both the art and products were likely approved separately. If this was a garage maker, it would not matter, but these same boxes sport the Disney logo and therefore I think merit inclusion in the discussion, especially with so few other canon visual references for this character. To my limited knowledge, the only other contrary visual reference material is from the Phasma book jacket that shows TFA style... (Curious if that was a computer generated image or what...) I'd love to hear people's thoughts and if a TLJ variant should be developed! I just want to see this costume approved, man...

Trimmed both thighs to the screen used dimensions and removed all return edges from the top of the thigh. Seems to fit much better and mobility is better as well. Should they be higher or is this a good height? Much appreciated!

Just finished my hdpe helmet. Trying to get a sfs style. What do you guys think ?

Hi everyone, my names piers just starting out on my journey to eventually joining the 501st. I have joined up to my local garrison here in Australia and have been doing a bunch of research which has led to a rabbit hole of information. My aim is to have ROTJ armour still trying to work out what would work for me 6" and 110kg . Is there a strict procedure in contacting a builder? i have one in mind but they are based in the US so any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like they have Frankensteined this helmet, it has both TFA and TLJ elements DN Cardinal - wide side mesh like TFA but TLJ teeth and smaller clips/recesses DN TFA - large side mesh - even larger than Anovos DN TLJ - angled mesh area towards the front and teeth TLJ Anovos angled mesh towards front and teeth and smaller clips/recesses TFA Anovos It's not even a combinations of both DN helmets, the mesh corner and nose plate positions and widths don't match the DN TFA or TLJ helmets, perhaps they remoulded or used old Anovos. The closest match on the side mesh would be the Cardinal with TFA Anovos, doesn't match the TFA from DN which is really weird. My thoughts, Cardinal was pre TLJ so really should be wearing TFA but that really comes down to our DL and the LMO's

Hello ladies and gentlemen! I'm Tristan from germany. I'm have my roots in building and painting boba fett armor and especially helmets and now discovered my love to stormtrooper helmets. My first was a rs kit and it was a great fun to build and paint it. Then I get a beautiful da props hdpe kit and I was addicted :-D. now I try to discover new makers and techniques because all of that stuff is so exciting and awesome in my opinion! GREAT to hear that you are shooting for Centurion, Erik! This is an awesome example of AM armor at it's best, but I'm sure you know that the CRLs have been updated in the last 7 years so there have been some changes for all 3 levels. A quick read over them will help get you up to speed. Also note that when reviewing a costume that the D.O.s do not depend solely on the text, but also take official visual references (screen caps, etc.) into consideration. A few things that may need to be addressed are: 1. It's kind of hard to tell, but the cloth belt may be a bit wide: The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. 2. The rims of the Hovi tips should have a few dabs of white paint ("weathering"). EASY! 3. If you haven't got a set yet, flexible hand guards are required. I have those available here. Troop 24 Niagara Falls Comicon Day 3 Niagara Falls , Ontario June 11, 2023 This was the most amazing Comicon Day I ever had. Not as busy as day 2 but so many amazing experiences. While acting as a target for blast a trooper in the morning, our CO asked if I would be willing to be one of the escorts for Giancarlo Esposito after my shift was done. Well - that was a no brainer. We were taken to his room where he was giving his panel and entered as he finished. As we came in, he introduced us as the 501st and went on to tell the audience about the charity work we do. He concluded with “These people are my heroes”. He then came down and took some photos with the group and then shook all of our hands individually. When he came to me, he taped me on the chest piece and said “this here is the real deal’. We then escorted him from the room back through the show floor to his autograph table. He carried our Din Djarin’s dark sabre and called out long live the empire as we walked. I am over his right shoulder Escorting him out of the panel room. preparing for the escort through the convention floor. I am right behind him. After this, we returned to our booth where we were informed that Trish Stratus (WWE wrestler) saw this and wanted 10 of us to do an escort so she could record it and show her instagram biewers how she gets an escort. She also was very gracious and posed for a photo, shook all of our hands and donated an autographed photo for our next Comicon coming up in August. After this, we had planned a TK walk through the convention floor earlier in the day. We suited up with 5 of us and walked the floor. We visited a couple of comic book artists that had mentioned that they were fans of the 501st earlier in the day and made quite the stir as we marched through. At one point Billy Zane (Titanic) stopped us and asked to get a photo. Later on, a few of us went by the celebrity autograph area, I spotted Jerry Mathers (Leave it to Beaver) who I loved to watch daily as a child on TV. There was no one in line, so I approached to tell him how grateful I was for all of the happiness he brought me as a child. He gave me his biggest Beaver Cleaver smile and came out from behind his table to shake all of our hands and get a photo with us. All in all, this was an amazing day all I. Troop 5 : Regina Collectimania June 11, 2023 / raised funds for the Regina Cat Rescue Initially this was to be more of a recruitment drive as we have no members in the province's capital city and we would love to remedy that. Because we ended up with a few more on the volunteer list and the addition of some rebels we were able to do more for their charity with a photo booth. It was not a huge show and it lasted less than six hours., but lots of people in that time. The venue, however, was very warm and that was a bit of a test for me going for three hours straight. I need to remember to be better hydrated in that heat! All was fine though, still some learning curve for me. I'm still contemplating the armor adjustments which seem to focus most on the bucket. I need it a bit higher but not too much. Most everything else seems to be fitting and riding well. I can safely say that I am totally past the whole anxiety thing over getting into costume and out on the floor around the people. I'm finding I really like to interact with people especially when I am away from the photo area. My favorite this troop was once again playing a statue and scaring a group of 16 year old boys when they suddenly realized I was real. I encountered them again later and gave them the whole fingers/eyes/watching you motion and they seemed to really get a kick out of that. Then where was the little kids most of which were excited to fist bump me (well one wanted to every time she saw me, but chickened out each time despite my best attempts to win her over). And a few of the adult kids who were just blown away standing with a stormtrooper. Hopefully at least a couple who signed the interest list follow through when we contact them. One guy wanted to be a TK so pulling for him! Join today. Yes, we mean you! Sort of my statue stand. Takes only minutes to catch someone. This was before it was 2000 degrees and the blaster was 12 feet long and 50 pounds. This one was excited. And with this one there was a combo of fist bumps and high fives instigated by him. To keep myself from seizing up I wandered and checked out the merchandise. Alas, no credits on me. Troop number 6 is already less than two weeks away and is all outdoors so the real heat test will be on! Bart

It's amazing how much knowledge you can take away from an armor workshop, very hard to stop and take photos when you are deep down the rabbit hole.

Any progress is good progress, real life can get in the way, don't worry the armor will still be there when you have more time

76. Star Wars Day at the OC Zoo - Orange, CA - Sat. 6/10/23 (ANH-S #49, FTE #58) The OC Zoo troop is one of my absolute favorite events of the year, and the largest single day of fundraising for the Zoo as well. One of their directors is a huge fan (goes to Celebration, all that) and they go all out with decorating and activities, but this was the first time they've hosted since 2019 due to the pandemic and then major renovations. We had a line out the front gates and well down the path out front - over 50+ costumers from the 501st, RL, and MMCC, like 4 Road Squadron decorated cars parked out front, R2/Droid builders, GA, and some incredible outfits from guests too. Strong showing from the FISD with I think 6 total TKs, plus a GA FOTK! The zoo keepers are super cool and usually let us handle some of their more friendly animals. I got to hold a porcupine one year! It was also a perfect opportunity for one of our Tusken members to show off his Massif puppy puppet (so cool). We had a small horde of Jawas as well, including my wife. Photos include myself, TK-61490, and FISD members: TK-20413, TK 83751 @fishgoh0nk, TK-82077 @TattooedStormtrooper, TK-3399, and TK-45528. Most of these aren't me but were the better photos I found with TKs in them. It was nice to see @Harbinger as well while he was in town!

I completely forgot to update here after the armour party. I didn't even take any progress photos. All the parts are rough cut out. A few still need to be trimmed a little to size right. The few that are sized right I need to get out to the store to grab some sanding papers to sand down the edges on the inside so they aren't too rough, a suggestion given to me at the armour party that I hadn't thought of. My progress was more in learning what steps i need than physical progress. Confidence is rising. Just need more time to actually do things. I tried to ask questions as much as I could to pick at the depths of knowledge of the approved TK's that attended. One even had his kit there to look at. Where all his straps are, how the peices look together when not on a person, or attached to other parts. It was really helpful to see what the pieces look like alone.

I have 2 of those teeshirts back from 2012...I remember speaking to Matthias about the incorrect spelling on the t shirt..Stormtroper instead of Stormtrooper..he had them corrected after that.yeah good old days

Looking back on this now, things have moved quite fast! My 1 year Trooperversary is coming up in about 2 months!

Hi! I'm 5'6" and slim build. AP Armour is what I ordered. I went with them building it for me and supplied them with my measurements. They did a great job, and were super helpful once I got the armour (had to trim the thigh pieces to fit a bit better). Would recommend AP armour if you're on the smaller size.

Scott and Ashley's beautiful wedding. So much fun to see so many involved wearing costumes and playing the part. Even The Maker himself showed up. Preventing any gate crashers Not me polishing off the rest of the crackers. Queued up for the Imperial March. A slightly daunting sight for someone walking down the aisle, but what a view! So fun to have been part of such a unique event. Congrats, Ashley!

This weekends trooping was at Loch Lomond with the BGCP comic con. Raising funds for Glasgow Children's Hospital charity. It was a hot one today summer has arrived, it felt great being outside in beautiful surroundings with great people. The piper above generously gave money from her own collection to give to our charity. Lord Vader enjoying an ice cream, well wishing he was.

75. City of Mission Viejo Star Wars Day - Mission Viejo, CA - Thu. 5/4/23 (ANH-S TK #48, FTE #57) I have a fun game where I have my wife (the Jawa in the photo actually!) try to guess which stormtrooper I am in photos with other TKs. It's especially fun because I often troop with other TKs whose armor I've worked on or built (usually from Anovos or RS) and who are of a similarly proper build for this costume. So it can be a challenge even for her (who has taken several of my L2/L3 submission photos and knows the CRLs as well as I do!), and frankly, I take that as the highest compliment.

Nice work Terry, a couple of things, these will be more for the higher levels. Belt is just over the bottom button, should be just below. Shoulder straps to shoulder bells different gaps, left side touching, right side has a gap, also depending on how much gap on the side you could curve these, reference below.. Bunching of undersuit between shoulder bells and chest. Different forearm to wrist gaps. Thighs hitting cod. Twist on thigh ammo strip, this should be fine but I'd probably straighten a little, but that's me . Rotate left thigh so aligns with shin. Drop box not aligned with the end of the plastic belt. Can see part of a logo on your pants. Note the angle of your plastic belt and fabric belt, should follow the same angle. Note on this side the belt angle is better, also drop box is aligned correct. Small gap between ab and kidney plates, tighter strapping may help. I can also see one of your V tabs on top of the kidney I can't quite make out your rear shoulder straps so can't comment on their fitment. Generally on the front of the chest the shoulder straps align, 1 large tab and 4 to 5 smaller tabs, not something that normally gets mentioned though. Helmet not central to backplate, also backplate sticking out on bottom right. Personally I think you will be fine for basic approval, depending on your GML of course. Just a few tweaks and you should be ready for higher levels. Good luck, hope to see you with a TKID very soon

Been a bit of a wait but the 2 big brown boxes are ready for shipping, they only have to go about 9500 miles to get here. Was hoping someone could help me by listing the steps to take now regarding approvals and the next steps?

I'm very pleased to announce my application to join the 501st Legion has been approved! Ready to serve the Empire. I have signed up for my first induction troop events next weekend.
