  1. Troop 20 Mackids Walk and Wheel Hamilton, Ontario June 3, 2023 This was a fundraising troop for McMaster Children’s Hospital. Lots of fun interacting with people, playing games, taking photos and cheering on the walkers, runners and riders. Group shot at the start / finish line. The boss watched intently as I played a game of connect for with one of his mechanics. Victory. Had a go at some calisthenics. Need to keep in shape to run up and down all those deathstar hallways. Stopped for a bit and mingled with some of the local law enforcement. A great turn out and big boost for the hospital. This is why we do it.

  4. This weekends trooping was at Glasgow Central train station raising funds for Glasgow Children's Hospital charity. Local citizens of the Empire were very generous with donations for the cause.

  5. I ended up angling them because I tested it and the lenses may rest on my nose when the helmet is built so I'll just trim them later at the top to straighten them out on the inside. I'm happy with the result. I'd say the gap is about 3/32" and is pretty unnoticeable but I'm sure it'll help with fogging.

  6. If you can grip the back of the rivet with pliers to stop it from turning if the drill bit gets stuck. Slow drill with very little pressure works for me.

  7. Also I realized that I miss being a sandy. The only reason I sold my old TD was the AP kit just was honestly so painful for a guy my size to wear. I had to do some serious construction to make it even wearable and every time I moved it restricted and hurt. So I decided to move on from it but now that I have a chance to rebuild one I think I'm going to do it. So this is now a Sandtrooper build BUT I'm going to keep the build thread updated here and keep you guys abreast of how my build is going because as much as I love MEPD it's kind of a dead forum. It's not that the guys don't want to help with builds, it's more that there aren't many people online to help. With this being a more active forum and with me already knowing the differences well enough to just make the changes needed without help on them I'd rather stay here and then peace out after I'm built lol. Thanks guys!

  8. If you do it carefully, the plastic should not break. But be careful if you use a drill, as the area may overheat and then it could deform the plastic.

  9. 6/2/23 Echo's Big Day Out, a celebration for adults with developmental challenges. We made A LOT of people really happy with our (questionable) dancing skills! We even had help from Supergirl and Mirabel.

  10. I would also highly suggest moving to the snap system, Rodney. Better yet, as Andrew mentioned I would go with the double-snap method. Yeah, it's extra work but well worth every minute it takes to make and attach them. Trust me. Here is a perfect example of double snaps from @Adianu's build (thank you, Sherry)! The part of the snap that is secured (I suggest E-6000) to your armor is Nylon, while the strap itself is elastic (for mobility). I have a thread here which may help. To keep the screen accurate look you can actually just remove the wires (no one sees them anyway) and keep the screws in place.

  11. In time brackets can crack out of your armour due to the small amount of material they have to go through. Snap plates and snaps with elastic are very durable, easy to replace and i always carry a few spares with me on troops. Double snaps is the way to go in case a single snap fails, at least you still have the other to hold things together and keep you in the game. I've successfully used snaps and elastic now for 9 years with only one failure which I was able to fix on troop in a matter of minutes.
