  1. Thank you! It was long overdue. Thank you! And thanks for all the support Adam, these are genius! Thank you so much! And, yeah: Next up, a Clone! Phase 2 Animated Comet Don't worry, I'll return to my beloved TKs. There's still the HWT and the Hero to complete the set -- oh, and getting my ESB at least to EIB, if not Centurion Thanks! I, too, am very glad. Thanks! So glad I manage to keep all of you laughing. We all need a bit of joy, laughter and happiness in our lives

  2. The arms turned out fantastic, Bart! Yeah, the drop boxes could definitely be raised a bit and moved toward the rear.. in a perfect world they should look like the diagram below. Not to add to your list of woes, but I have 2 other easy to remedy suggestions if I may. 1. In the first pic it shows the top of your ABS belt covering the bottoms of the ab/button panels, but in the second pic it shows it sitting a little low. Not a requirement for Basic, but since the snaps that connect the cloth belt are already set, what you can do is use a piece of industrial Velcro (bottom photo). I use this same method. I borrowed Adam's pic to illustrate this. 2. In the second photo, I noticed that you have a point on the inside of the top of the forearm. This will poke into you, especially since while trooping we have our right arm bent in most of the time while carrying an E-11. I would suggest taking some sandpaper and rounding that off. Trust me. On a side note: DANG I'm glad to see what a great job you did removing all those return edges! Keep up the great work, Bart.. you are doing fine! I still say we need to start an OCD support group here. I'll be the first to sign up.. It's called the antecubital fossa, but elbow armpit sounds perfect. I am so going to steal that phrase, Adam.

  3. The rest of the armour arrived today. Again, very happy with the quality. Looks like I will need to make some adjustments to the leg and arm parts as they are a bit too small. I can’t get my hand through the wrist opening. one other thing I am realizing is that when you try pieces on, the fibreglass is very itchy. I likely will coat the inside with plastidip, unless someone has a better solution. I also ordered a death trooper kit at the same time, which I am going to build first, so this one will be on hold for a bit.

  4. 12/15/22 - Make A Wish Holly Jolly Holiday Party 44th TK troop, 41st for the year I did this troop my first year. I believe it was my third. It was great to do it again. It was FREEEEEEZING outside. 34*F (1*C) and windy. I wore my pauldron to try to keep some heat in. Fortunately it was much warmer inside the venue. My binoc speakers were blasting the Star Wars Epic Holiday Music on loop. The photo I got with Anna and Elsa my first year is one of my favorites and the first one I ever had in my signature, so I was eager to get another good princess pic. Chris, our CO, got this behind the scenes shot. I'm both ashamed of myself and pretty proud. Adam and Lucas ready to spread some Imperial Holiday Cheer (r). The event got underway and the group did our best to troop it up for the kids. See, they do a big toy giveaway for special kids and families every year through Make A Wish at this car dealership. It's an event I'm extremely happy to participate in. This photo set proves that I am indeed at my post once in a while. After snacks, photos, and some gift choosing, Santa read the kids a story. I.. um... strayed from my post to participate. And I quote "You're the only one of us who can sit down. Go sit with the kids." So I checked off a bucket list item - story from Santa. Santa story POV. It was magical. At the end of the evening, Santa drove up in a dune buggy to award a very special gift to a very sweet Wish girl. Since this all happened last night, I suspect that most of her day today was spent jumping sand dunes here in Albuquerque in her new buggy. TK-89000 reporting another successful troop.

  6. 7. 2022-12-16, Musikhjälpen Göteborg 2022 (The Music Help) (Hero) Day 2 for me! Still going strong! Raised a lot of money today, over $2000! We're fighting the cold and we have many frozen troopers but we are out 2 hours at a time a couple times a day! Today we have our CO with us as a few of our troopers are invited into the studio to talk about the Legion and what we do! Here are some videos from yesterday's and today's event! https://imgur.com/a/wEC8Fyf Now some images! Met a colleague who of course wanted a picture!

  7. Yup. I'd use that tape line as a final trim line. That should look good. Definitely match the front cover strip to the new thigh edge level. It'll be SO much more comfy without that upper thigh return edge.

To be a part of something like this is what it's all about, folks. Thanks for sharing, brother!

  11. Wow, that's at least a double kit. That's not bad at all!!! And yeah, that's the stuff. They're about half the thickness of real military helmet pads and are perfect for padding arms, knees, and even bucket areas that don't need thick stuff. That double pack will last you for a while if you get it.

  13. Trust me, I know from OCD. I know it too well. I used to polish my armor after literally every troop until I decided I liked it weathered in a certain way. Now I try to maintain that weathering... OCD can be brutal. It took me about 10 troops to get my armor truly feeling GOOD and fitting me as I wanted it. That involved those cheap tactical paintball helmet pads in various spots. I like them because they're about $15 for a full set (amazon), stick onto velcro dots, and can be easily removed for washing and moved around for the perfect fit. I have padding on the inside edge of my forearms. The inner elbow edge (elbow armpit?). With padding there and how I have my bicep-to-forearm strap, it keeps any armor bites from happening. The forearm armor touches the bicep armor without any pinch happening on the inner forearm. This works well for me. Others have padding on the elbow itself to keep the forearm smooshed up against the armor and prevent bites that way. Others have no padding at all and don't seem to have issues. For your drop boxes, I think a little elastic needs to come out to keep the boxes in their correct spot. Where that trimming needs to be done is hard to say, but it looks just ever so slightly long. Back gaps look great to me.

  14. Decision time. I'd like to finish the arms this weekend. This is the best fit yet using the 2" bicep to forearm elastic on the cover strip and inside the cover strip. Do I need to make further adjustments or am I beating a dead horse now? I'm a bit lopsided yet because I can't get both arms on by myself. Things to do yet on the top half of me: 1) Return edges on the butt plate to remove. I think I have arranged some in person help and guidance for that and the thigh return edge removal. 2) Figure out the drop box thing. I think it's just a case of some glue. They slide an inch in either direction. 3) Rotate the shoulders a bit forward. I think 1/2 inches would fix up that gap. 4) You guys tell me, What I've done so far (much to my amazement because I'm out of my wheelhouse here): 1) Dropped the chest over the abs. 2) Dropped the back to the butt plate. 3) Added a right side overlap prevention latch. 4) Got used to removing glued strapping and regluing. Yes, small miracles in my mind. Bart

  16. 6. 2022-12-15, Musikhjälpen Göteborg 2022 (The Music Help) (Hero) Day 1 for me! Pretty much the event of the year! A full week of celebrity hosts in a studio that broadcasts all hours of the day, to collect money for charity. There is a new theme for the charity every year and this year the theme is to collect money for children that gets their childhood robbed by ongoing wars. SG is out here in the cold, between -5 during the day and -12 degrees Celsius at night! Double undersuits and socks and gloves are needed to say the least! We stroll around on the square where the event is held and dance with people, hug people, take photos and of course help to collect money for the charity! We the TK's have unfortunately opted for no TD as the risk of getting it stolen are not worth wearing it! There are a lot of drunk people in the evenings that are unpredictable! Warm gloves is also something we've had to add since there is a risk of frostbite! I must say that I don't have many photos and mostly videos since the event is live on Swedish national television, but I've included some photos and screen grabs from yesterday's event! (2022-12-15) Mixed videos from yesterday's event and today's event that I'll post about at the end of the day! https://imgur.com/a/wEC8Fyf
