OP (MV) Post #53: Deadline I should have been in bed hours ago to help recover from the Flu/COVID-like symptoms that I, along with my entire household, have come down with, but I'm working on a tight deadline, @justjoseph63. More details in future posts, but I finished up some edge and screw sanding late tonight. And miles to go before I sleep...5 points

Building to as CRL should be easy, if it states something is green, I'd paint it green, if something shows an item is at a right angel then I would make it so, following the word and images of a CRL, descriptions an images help keep them as easy as possible, this is why we follow the most common and norm and in some cases a stylized look to a costume. Common or the norm keeps things easier not just for a member, but also for GML's and those that approve the higher levels. These are the reasons why some things don't make a CRL. If a member builds something and doesn't follow a CRL then that is the members choice with every possibility of a knock back, on any given CRL in the Legion. Not to forget, Expert Infantry and Centurion are purely optional, there is no mandate for anyone to build past basic in any Detachment. No weapons required at basic, which means the member can present a weapon if they wish as long as it is movies specific or represented by that charterer carrying that weapon. Once a CRL is updated, the prior version is grandfathered. this means a new builder must use the current version, again there is no mandate for an existing member already approved at higher levels to re submit for approval. That is another personal choice. You only ever earn these awards once, they go to the member for reaching a higher standard and stay with the member for life. I'll bring this back to movie specific differentiation. This we need to even consider a new CRL, or an addition of another film to an existing one as we have just completed for TLJ by adding TroS As the armour is shared and identical we are limited to other variations to differentiate the two, but we have managed to find some specifically in the weapons carry. This is why we will continue to focus on the most seen as becoming the norm. It all comes back to what we see on the big screen, not what is behind the scenes nor any fantastic insight we do sometimes get from actors and the actual prop builders for the films. The behind the scenes info helps us reinforce what we have seen or sometimes give us a better explanation, but it doesn't steer us away from what is available to all on screen. In my honest opinion it isn't worth convoluting a CRL with a raft of variations making it more difficult and potentially creating confusion and the possibility of more errors with combinations that aren't seen at all in the movies. Keeping it simple isn't making it more difficult, it is making it easier for anyone building to a CRL. One thing we have all learnt over the years is there are 100's of opinions on any given subject when it comes to Star Wars, what detachments have to do is wade through all those opinions and come up with a happy medium that suits a majority. That is no easy task, never has been, never will be.4 points

Thanks! Thank you! Who would have thought I'd marry this young, lol [37] 03.12.2022 -- NSQ Christmas Party in the Lasertag Arena, Hamburg Time for the last trooping weekend of the year! I arrived with a terrible cough, half-frozen from the temperatures outside and with a lot of motivation to have a nice last weekend accompanied by DZ-15925, the current youngest member of the German Garrison, if I remember correctly. The two of us had a slight debate as for who should get to carry the candy cane, but eventually the Jawa won that debate, by simply taking it and running away. All of our stun shots missed, so we didn't get it back. Instead my bruised pride got treated by the local medic. After the bacta infusion I felt a lot better, but that table was so comfortable, I simply fell asleep again, until it was time for the actual festivities. The food wasn't as good as anticipated, but we had free access to all the softdrinks one could need and the opportunity to trade merch. All in all a successful evening. [38] 04.12.2022 -- NSQ Christmas Troop in the Outpost One, Dassow Start transmission. It's working? Awesome! Well, we're back at the Outpost One with some exciting news about how the NSQ Christmas Celebration was interrupted by the most interesting drama on the Death Star since the Alderaan Disaster yesterday. We actually stumbled across this Protocol Droid and whilst the cross-reference in the database isn't quite finished yet, I'm convinced that he's one of the droids they recently lost on Tatooine. Win One for the troops in shiny white over our dirty colleagues, who are stuck in the sun and the sand. Also, I managed to snag this amazing Selfie with Tarkin himself! He wasn't too amused, but was luckily unable to get my designation, so I don't expect this to come back to bite me in the butt-plate. Even more interesting was this old dude running around, though? Hasn't he ever heard of the uniform regulations we all must adhere to? Last I checked, Vader was on his way to deal with him, so good luck old man... Aaaaand I just got my transfer request to Hoth because of the Tarkin debacle. Sounds like a boring planet, but maybe I'll get to make a Snow-Stormtrooper in my free time. Who knows, maybe I'll even get to pet a Tauntaun or stumble across a Rebel snowspee- wait what? Gotta report this in. TK-66744 signing off3 points

I'm 30 weeks into my 12 week wait for the BlastFX kit... not that I'm impatient. Just really really thought I'd have it by now. Alas. Anyways, I've trooped twice with the Leia Leveller and it has one problem. It hangs TERRIBLY in the holster. It's not nearly this bad with my leg in the way, but it still pokes out a lot. It's unpleasant. In contrast, my (well, like 50% at this point) resin Quest Design hangs like this. It's fine. Good weight and it doesn't poke out. The QD has the original metal folding stock from Joseph, a hollowed out barrel for the little blinky light and some sound, and the metal Blaster Factory grip and trigger. In contrast, the Blaster Factory E11 is as it came aside from paint and the real Hengstler. The weight and weight distribution is unchanged from the factory spec. So I got this - another genuine Stirling folding stock from Joseph. My thought was that it would add more weight to the nose and help the blaster hang better. The Blaster Factory stock is aluminum and doesn't weigh much at all. The Stirling stock weighs a good bit. They're almost identically sized. A slight different bulge or bend here and there, but the bolts line up. I was able to use the original Blaster Factory screws and spacers (seen at the top) to mount the OG stock. And here it is! Looks pretty much identical huh? I was prepared to file, dremel, cut, and slice to make this work but no work was required. Uninstall one, reinstall the other. I also swapped over the greeblies. And now it hangs like this. It's not perfect but it's WAAAYYYY better and doesn't poke out during troops. The extra couple pounds of weight also feels nice in the hand. The folding stock still folds nice and interfaces where it should with the cap. It doesn't snap in, but it doesn't flop around either. I could bend this a bit more and make the fit tighter, but I hardly ever fold it and don't want to affect how it mounts otherwise, so I'm leaving it. This mod was a slam dunk anyway. Maybe 2023 will see this blaster having some electronics...3 points

NEW Detachment Leader Merchandise & Officer Just For Laughs FISD Meme's Update Your Build Threads Around the Detachment Charity Auction Trooping Opportunities INFORMATION & AWARD PROGRAMS Common FISD Acronyms and TK Glossary Pre Approval Forum 3D Section Field Exercise Award Imperial Attaché Program Master Armorer Award Fire Teams EIB & Centurion: What do these terms mean? Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advanced Tactics Awards Public Relations Staff List 2020 Follow FISD Greetings fellow members and a warm Happy Holidays to all. As the end of 2022 fast approaches, I would like to personally thank everyone for their contributions to our most awesome Detachment. Without active members and staff, this place wouldn't be as good as it is, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart. On to business, Finally after a couple of years of deliberations and tweaking we have added The Rise of Skywalker to our The Last Jedi CRL. Both sets of armour are the same, but the one significant difference is a new weapon only seen wielded in TRoS, and that is the Electro Prod This is a single weapon carry, meaning no blasters or other accessories of any description can be carried when portraying this costume character. As weapons are not a prerequisite of Basic level approval, this means there is only a TRoS TK at our higher levels. Other changes to the TLJ CRL are as follows. Basic: Cod to Posterior plate strap. It's on all our other armour so it made sense to add this oversight. It can clearly be seen in a few screen shots and is a very easy addition to make. Expert Infantry: Minor Thermal Detonator and Forearms, inclusion of more accuracy. F11-D slightly different to TFA version now with correct colour scheme. Centurion: Major Thermal Detonator upgrade as it is a different construction to TFA version. The TFA version simply painted differently will no longer be acceptable at Centurion for TLJ. There are also 3D files available for the thermal Detonator so builders will have options. Forearms need to be trimmed/modified to emulate TLJ/TroS which are different to the TFA and Finn Hero versions. These mods have been tested, are found to not be too difficult and are represented in new CRL Images and a new CRL Model. F11-D must have Picatinny rail attached as per TLJ/TroS references. The Heavy Version will undergo the same treatment once we have photos of the more accurate version from a build currently underway. All told, we now have a more accurate representation for this costume, giving better separation from it's TFA predecessor. As all changes aside from the Cod strap are at our optional higher levels of approval, they only affect Detachment approvals, not your local Basic level by a GML We do however offer a 3 month grace period for anyone who is already underway with their actual build. Those who are have the option to build to the now grandfathered CRL, or take up the challenge of reaching the highest tiers we offer with the latest version. The 3 month grace period will end on the 5th of March 2023, after which only the new CRL will be available. If you require a copy of the previous version, please contact our Deployment Officers as they have copies in PDF available to email you. Retail Embargo Lift For most of the year we are under an embargo from LFL and can not attend retail locations unless prior approval has been given by them. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted December 1-31 at retailers selling Star Wars Related merchandise for the holiday season. All fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within this window with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. Although these appearances will be treated like an open invite, we’ll leave it to the fan groups to independently organize around these events as they see fit. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these. Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. In the coming weeks, we may send out a list of ‘preferred’ retailers from certain regions who would welcome fans to participate at their venues within these event windows, but you are all still welcome to make plans with appropriate retailers or venue hosts of your choice regardless of whether or not they appear on the list. Dec 1-31 -- ok to appear at retailers selling SW-related merchandise for the holiday season "Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. If the retail location does not stock Star Wars products you should NOT be attending." *REMEMBER* Always follow your garrison/squad's guidelines when in comes to organising Disney/LFL promotional troops, only command staff can deal direct with LFL. The Organa Obliterator. The Princess Punisher. The Senator Silencer. The Royalty Reducer. and my personal favorite, The Leia Leveller. My resin QuestDesign broke half of the sight guard randomly on a troop and I found myself on the blasterfactory website buying a metal one to fix the damage. It happened to be during their May 4th sale. They happened to have "ESB E11 kits" on sale with a VERY nice discount, so I ended up with one. I was having a bad day and had the extra cash. A 3rd E-11 became mine. I didn't want another E-11. I'm happy with my Hyperfirm and my QD. But sometimes we just gotta take life as it comes and make space for a new build. Here's the Warmachine after an initial assembly to see how everything fits together. It's just lovely. And surprisingly not too heavy. Fully built, it's about the same weight as my resin QD with the original Stirling stock attached. So anyways, I built this thing and was just smitten. It's such a lovely blaster. I had to build it into something fun, so I started researching and discovered that Mr No-Stripes had an E11 with an M19 scope. A plan formed. The kit came with the M19 scope and T-tracks. I then placed another order for the stuff I was missing - the clip, Hengstler, and power cylinders. I've also got an original Hengstler 400 on the way from @T-Jay. The original counter may get used in another project since I really don't wanna hack it up for the BlastFX, but it'll be really nice to have on hand. And of course I bought the BlastFX kit. I came across a video of a Warmachine E-11 with the kit installed and went completely gaga. No way to not buy it as well. It should be in my hands in 12-16 weeks. So this is gonna be a loooonnnng build. The end is not in sight. Repeat, the end is not in sight. Back to Mr No Stripes. Just look at him. Isn't he heroic? Courageous? A fine figure of a trooper? You can see a lot of details in that above shot thanks to the 4K resolution. His bolt is weathered pretty dark. He's got the chip on top of the scope. There's a shiny rivet on the rear sight. And there are SCRAGGLY WIRES sticking out of his counter and going forward toward the power cylinder. In this shot we can see a bit of key detail - wear on the front power cylinder edges. Very very shiny wear. And also just the bare hint of those scraggly wires. And of course, the hero shot. If the TKs had just stunned Han, Luke, and Chewie in the hanger wouldn't the movie have basically ended right there? But I digress. After sticking my toe into the research and feeling how nice the water was, I went a little deeper. Not much, but into the next scene where Leia is escorted to Vader. Paying careful attention, I was like "oh yes, there's our hero Mr No-Stripes standing behind her right shoulder with his M19 scope." only to be disappointed to see that the trooper in question DID indeed have stripes in about 3 frames of the film. You can just barely see it, but he's a different trooper. Yet it's clearly the same gun. CLEARLY. M19? Check Chip on scope? Check Wear on power cylinders? Check Counter present? Check SCRAGGLY WIRES?!?!?! Check! I did an annotation. The amount of detail that is clearly visible is just outstanding. Love the 4K res screenshots! It even shows that front folding stock greeblie that @justjoseph63 makes. The socket on top of the scope is also really interesting. It looks really tall and if you have a clear enough screen, you can see a bit of separation between the base and the top - I think a chip is actually installed in the socket. So this is the foundation for my entire build - the theory that Mr No Stripes gun and The Escort gun are in fact the same gun. Our hero might not have been carrying it in this particular scene, but it reeeeeaaaaalllllllly looks like the same weapon. It may not be a correct theory, but it sure charges up my imagination and it's the replica blaster that I want to build. And there's a ton of good views of this particular E-11. Combine these pix with the bolt-side view and front view in the hands of Mr No-Stripes and that's about the most complete showing of a prop that a fan can hope for. But that's not all! @PlayfulWolfCub actually created his own replica of this beautiful blaster during his power cylinder production and research. I've borrowed the photos from his PDF. Having this reference from one of the TK Detail Masters is the icing on top. It's gonna be extremely valuable to have as a guide for those slightly blurry parts like the scraggly wires. Anyways, that's my project. I'm excited about this build! (please don't burst my bubble and tell me they're not the same gun)1 point

Hi Ardeshir, and THANKS for your submission for TLJ First Order Executioner Stormtrooper EI! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Well Ardeshir, as always, an armor that could be exhibited in any museum...A real masterpiece. We will simply add a few small tips, that we are sure are easy for you to fix. -The forearms are hitting the hand plates. You can come up a little bit on those forearms, and it would be solved. Reference image - The under suit is very wrinkled in that area (although it is less visible in the new photos, as the light is "less direct", this small dressing issue can still be seen). Reference images Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. -Large gap between TD and backplate. In the photos of the disassembled TD, we can see the black "foam" on the internal part of the TD... Maybe with a thinner one, it will be solved. Reference images(Some of these reference photos are not specific to the Executioner, but are screenshots from TLJ. Same armor). - The calves seem too big, a lot of gap can be seen between the armor and the leg(pic. 1).. This is something we could see in your previous TLJ application(pic. 2), but it seems that in this case, it is a bit more evident... #1 Current app different angle #2 Previous TLJ app Previous TLJ-E app Reference images Congratulations Ardeshir. Another beautiful armor for your collection... It is a shame that since you have been previously approved with these particular costumes, no additional awards will be given. No doubt it deserves it... P.S..: No blasters held or holstered for TLJ-E so you should really remove those images from your app so there is no confusion for anyone following.1 point

You can see variants all over the place here including the two TK’s in the corridor have charging levers. Also you see the silver ring holder with the white ring as well as black ring. The blasters I saw most had silver ring holders. The rubber ones that you can detect from the front site had white ring holders. My honest opinion regarding this is that you will see so so so many of them in TLJ without picatinny rails as well as stunr vs hero variants and all their options such as the thermal detonators that is mmmmmmm it is not worth upsetting so many FISD members. I think on the armor I understand. As well as what is available to each particular trooper such as axe for Executioner and riot baton and shield for others. But I just want to be honest and say it here because you guys may not hear it directly. Coming from someone that is as ocd as me, it might be a word of caution. Even if it goes against what I do and strive to do. It will upset a lot of people when you see variants and it will come across as FISD being unreasonable. Most already think that FISD nit picks just to nit pick as opposed to keep up a standard. And to hold someone back because of a minor issue on a blaster is going to not only discourage people from advancing in FISD but also hold resentment towards FISD in general. I believe and follow the strict standards and do stuff that is not even listed or even required and there are things in my builds that even you guys don’t see. But to go over d ring variants and fixate on one being acceptable snd the other not and forcing someone to rip off a charging handle or replace a ring, even I have to say makes me Just want to walk away from it and reject advancement. On the armor absolutely. On the blaster absolutely. But to disregard its variants. Well it seems like making things way too excessively hard almost out of spite. I’m just voicing what I hear in much larger numbers than you may not be aware of. again let me see I am proud of my centurion awards and can not thank everyone enough for the unbelievable standards you’ve helped me achieve. But reason and reasonable minds need to prevail. We need to keep what makes us so flawless but at some point we are saying to people whet is Star Wars and what you see and Validate doesn’t matter. Perhaps a range with some particular features. For example forearms, or thermal detonators or blasters. sorry for the long message but I think it needs to be brought to everyone’s attention.1 point

Height = 177cm Weight = 53kg Wow Luca, now I understand why you can sit and do all that stuff you do with your armor on. I´m 185cm and 95kg (and 49 years old, my bones are like recycled ABS), almost can't even put on my helmet. Looking great, Luca!!! Thanks!!!1 point

Im Going to update the above photos so that the reference is correct for people when they see the thread. Some may not see the rest of the thread and it could mislead them. regarding the end cap I am going to make multiple cap variations for this so that all are visible. But I held a black one and saw those and regardless of it being a smokily or not it is my preference. All ring plates I saw were Silver. Some missing rings.1 point

Also correct that is an error. It is an Anovos Premiere fiberglass helmet that has been heavily modified. Chin was cut, clips are replaced with TLJ clips, noseplate is replaced with TLJ noseplate, now teeth have been custim cut out from a trace of the executioner helmet. The new TLJ helmet will be arriving shortly and I will upload that to photos as well.1 point

The first of 2 of my Big Brown Boxes arrived today. The second is close behind. The pieces look great, the armour feels very sturdy and was very well packed and I did put the helmet on and run around the house if I am being completely honest.1 point

Sling seen in The Force Awakens, predominantly used by Rey, but also seen with at least 2 Stormtroopers. Behind the scenes, nice look a the D ring clip Sling mounts can be seen on this F-11D Rifle which was on display at NYCC in 2017 (here) Another angle Other side. NOTE the light mounted to the picatinny rail, never seen in the movies, could have been a prototype1 point

Whew, over a month passed. I guess I've been putting off this update since I didn't wanna be "done" and put the blaster on the wall until my BlastFX kit comes. But DONE comes for us all... so here's the Leia Leveller's most screen accurate form that I am willing to achieve. I got the banana bend in the rail and totally reshaped the nose to fit nicely in the barrel. It didn't take a whole lot of effort, but a bit more than was expected. I also got the greebs from Joseph installed in their spots... though I suspect the rear one fell off for filming and was originally farther back. Starboard side. I just love this thing. So pretty. So satisfying to hold. The port side beauty shot. I'm very satisfied with this. And I'll be even more satisfied taking it all apart again to put in the BlastFX guts. and lastly... My daughter put on my torso and arms and posed for me. She's 10. The plastic was uncomfortable and the blaster was heavy. I didn't get the rubber gloves out. But having this shot fills my heart with happy little laser blasts.1 point

Okay. Here's my first attempt at figuring out what's going on with these scraggly wires. I don't think I quite have it right, but think I'm on the right track. I tried a few things to get it even this far. I first thought it may be a braided wire. A roll of 1/8" braided wire was something like $30, so I braided up some of my own by hand and was instantly happy I didn't spend that money. The braiding was far too wide and large. The original blaster behind Leah definitely just had some fraying on the end, making it poof out. The original blaster also has a wire helping secure the power cylinders around the clip receiver. I don't have that on mine and don't intend to replicate that detail, but it's pretty interesting and only something I noticed when mine was in hand and I noticed that a "step" was missing behind that receiver. Same thin wire they used to hold the counter in place. Also also, the gun behind Leah is missing the right hand far bottom T-track. That's the only way that light would show through the bottom row from this angle - if that T-track wasn't there. But I digress. Back to the wires. Mine isn't quite right compared to the screen one. It's too long, making the wire go down and across in a rather square shape instead of down at a diagonal angle. But I think this is what was going on - black tape or something similar holding the wire in place on the counter. My theory is that the wires got PAINTED black just like the rest of the blaster. I don't think it was insulated wire due to the fraying you can see in the screen capture. The foreground wire takes an immediate U turn coming out of the counter and the goes toward the power cylinder. The wires seem to go straight underneath the power cylinder and connect near the resistors. Connecting wires to the backs of the power cylinder centers gave a different look than what was present in that original screen capture. Mine are just floating in place so I can move them all about and reposition as I notice new things. The original was apparently a functional gun shooting blanks, so the clip release button would have needed to function. And in order to get to that clip release, the wires need to move out of the way. In the act of pressing that clip release, moving the wires out of the way exactly as seen in the screen capture is the most natural way to do it. The one nearest the barrel gets a bit closer to the barrel and tends to go straight down. The other wire in the foreground gets shoved and does this U turn thing to give thumb room for the prop person to change the clip. And here it is from behind. Not such a strange routing due to the need to press that release button downward. I need to fiddle with this more and think about it more, but I feel like I'm nearly there.1 point

I got some parts painted. Preliminary assembly with some paint. It looks gooooood. I used hammertone on the main body pieces. I sprayed some areas purposely thicker and some thinner. I didn't want fresh wrinkle finish on this blaster. Wrinkle paint takes a long time to wear down to a nice "used" looking level. Hammertone goes to that level almost out of the can. It gives some of that variation in tone that the real guns have. Thinner on the barrel and a bit thicker on the folding stock. No hammertone on the guard, inner barrel, scope, or various other pieces. I also wanted to black out that center gold stripe on my vintage counter, but I didn't want to paint. It's also very very thin clearance inside, so a piece of electrical tape won't fit. However, a piece of clear scotch tape fits fine. I colored it with a black sharpie and that takes care of the gold inner counter problem. Moving onto the power cylinders! I wanted a little bit of crustiness inside the main capacitors/insulators/whatever, so I gave them a bit of a white acrylic wash. Nothing really awesome, just something to show that it's not plain copper inside those little side slits. Decently successful. The one feature the Fieldmarshall cylinders is missing is these outer wings. I snipped some extra from the T-tracks and glued it in place. It's slightly blobby but a really tiny and hard to see detail. And it's really on there! This may survive a couple troops. Inner capacitors! The nose holes needed drilling out slightly to allow clearance for the wires. I angled the outer capacitor so that METALMITE would always be readable if you knew where to look. Seriously, this kit is so very much the Easy Button. Almost nothing to change to make it perfect. It feels like cheating to build. I don't have much fabrication or alteration. Just smooth sailing. The included red wire is a perfect size for those rear capacitor leads once you remove the inner copper. It pulls out with a needle nose easily and any left over comes out by itself when you shove the cap lead into the red. And here's my first pass at a screen accurate power cylinder. Weathering is easy, but that red speck at the back required a bit of thought. The angle proves it isn't one of the center power wires. There seems to be an extra red power wire coming out the back rear of the outer insulator. You can also (barely) make out the presence of an extra flat feature on the outside edge from that rear view. Here it is from behind. Pretty similar shape overall. (Also, I'm happy with my wiring and resistors.) More thought and comparison with my in-hand replica vs the screen grabs made me realize I had the wire angled backwards. It should arc down and back instead of back and then down. And it seems to have a segment of black painted wire or a resistor at the end. It's rough and ready. It's used and abused. It might be old and tired, but it's my power cylinder. And I *think* it's decently accurate. Rear view with painted wires. It was hard to make myself paint over the pretty capacitors and wires, but that's how the original was and that's how this one needs to be.1 point

I've been slowly working on the blaster. Initial painting and weathering. I got a little bottle of Aluminum Black and started etching some items. The mag release button is chilling in there in this shot. It's just a tarnish that's pretty easy to wipe off, so it's not suited for something that will be actively trooped with. However, I think it's gonna be perfect for the bolt and some small screw type items. I gave the bolt about 10 weatherings with this stuff, wiping it on and letting it sit, then dunking in water and drying, then repeating. I sanded in between several weatherings. The result is a lovely darkened bolt that shouldn't stick out quite as much as a non-weathered one. It looks quite dark in this shot with the unpainted aluminum around it, but it reflects light nicely in person. I think the etching will be juuuust right. I sealed it in some wax to preserve the weathering. I was really hoping this would be more like anodizing than dipping in ashes, but it's a lot more like ashes. Still, I got these small hardware pieces decently blackened. I'll apply some wax to help protect and then just use to let them age naturally should give a beautiful finish. I hope. I mean, I can always paint these things if I need to. I also sanded off casting flash on any metal parts that had it. The mag receiver (above) was pretty filthy with flash. It's now beautifully smooth. The scope and folding stock needed a bit of sanding as well. And here's the real working Hengstler 400 from @T-Jay It's glorious. No eagle, but it has everything else. I gave the tan cover a little paint and thought some disassembled pix would be nice. Being a pleb who's never seen a real one, I was geeking out. The little white bit at the bottom goes between the reset stalk side and the body keeping the reset stalk from pressing. Quite genius. I also really dig the zinc coated interior finish. 24 volt coil. Tino pre-set my TK number on it. Not sure how he did that... hopefully by rolling the digits by hand and not by letting it count 89400 little 24 volt pulses. Here's the Fieldmarshal replica on the left vs the real 400 on the right. EXTREMELY similar. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind that open frame on the original... not sure if I could make it fit though and I haven't yet tried. I did mask off that original sticker from paint though. And the number side. The Fieldmarshal is a lot more rough and ready looking. The original 400 looks more refined. I just have the replica numbers wedged into place for these pix. They'll come out later. So what am I doing with both of these (very nice) counters? I plan to temporarily mount the real one to the Leveller with my best guess at the original wire fastener. Then, when my BlastFX arrives, I'll remove it and install the screen in the replica counter. It'll then be held on in the modern way, with screws on the scope rail. I'll keep the original on a shelf to fondle and ogle. It'll lie in wait till I have a new project for it to live with. Thanks again for the counter Tino!!! It's such a beauty.1 point

Had no one else seen that front greeb on the stock in this scene? DID I FIND SOMETHING NEW? lol! I'm beaming. For the wire situation on the blaster, this is my take. I am totally prepared to be wrong and get corrected, but I think this is what's going on. I've spent far too much mental resources on these wires. The easy place to start is this one without a whole lot of detail. It looks like 2 wires to me coming from the Hengstler nose. And then there's all of this. The back view and bottom view match up nicely with the side view to give a good path for that wire (yellow) that seems to be holding the counter onto the rail. It's quite thin. I think it's just black electrical wire. It could be a mega-thin zip tie, but... I mean really really thin. The replica pix from Playfulwolfcub show his wire path (green) and I think it's quite close. I believe the wires are a bit thicker than the ones on his blaster and dip down toward the power cylinders and kinda overlap the red power cyl wires. Maybe. That's my theory right now anyway. And also I noticed that the Leia Leveller has no "OFF" text on the clip.1 point
