The first of 2 of my Big Brown Boxes arrived today. The second is close behind. The pieces look great, the armour feels very sturdy and was very well packed and I did put the helmet on and run around the house if I am being completely honest.4 points

Height = 177cm Weight = 53kg Wow Luca, now I understand why you can sit and do all that stuff you do with your armor on. I´m 185cm and 95kg (and 49 years old, my bones are like recycled ABS), almost can't even put on my helmet. Looking great, Luca!!! Thanks!!!2 points

I'm actually OK with a slight overlap on the right side, as it's fairly common: It's the left side that's more important IMO. I agree about RS' return edges on the sides... way too large.2 points

The foam was for filling the gap between you and the armor and yes my 2 pieces behind the ab are @10cm thick, holding the front and back away the belt should pull in on the sides like when you squash a round container so it's oval, which would intern keep those pieces better in alignment reducing the shadow. Or you could try a locking tab similar to the video below. Yes I know this armor doesn't have a large return but the principal is there of keeping the pieces aligned (depending of course if they have the same thickness return. Personally I think RS is leaves too much return on the abdomen, if you compare with early RS armor from the LFL archives BUT all this is really irrelevant as I've just looked through some of the most recent approved RS Centurion apps and it appears it's common to have this look/shadow/overlap so disregard unless the DO's comment2 points

Lets see if I can explain it a little clearer, the majority of TLJ and TROS used the same blasters, so no confusion there. The majority of both TLJ and TROS had white D rings (as can be seen in the picture below), which we can see from production and behind the scenes photos, also they had no cocking lever (the slot on right side) and also the 2 extra holes in the top of the barrel and rounded sight. BUT there are a couple of TFA style blasters that do come up in both TLJ and TROS, they have black D rings, cocking lever on the left side and no extra holes in the top of the barrel and angular sight ( a few other fined details too). These are the oddities in the movies and not the norm/generalized appearance we try for in CRL's, they were also used in the TROS standee images. So question would be do we keep the norm/general detailed blaster for CRL requirements or do we allow "variants" for higher level. To me it's like the "Mr No Stripes" we know it was there but we it's not allowed as a variant for that CRL.2 points

Yeah, the space inside the armor is a huge help at times. Without it, I would have had to make mobility cuts by now, as there's definitely a lack of space between my armor plates As long as you manage 80° angles in your legs and got a flexible chest-strapping, most of these things are possible, no matter if you get that angle because of mobility cuts or the space inside your armor. Here's a (not really) helpful tutorial on sitting down in armor by myself. And maybe the fact that I'm 19 is also a help, I'll get back to this in 30 years to compare to my mobility at age 49 Thanks for the compliment! As before, I'm awaiting your feedback (anxiously)1 point

Ok so I will redo that and move it maybe so the cover strip edge meets the elastic edge on the inside. Does that sound right? Am I understanding the position? I looked at another photo and that seems to be a fair estimate on the position. Bart1 point

My case was a little too much since you can see my shadow in the very unfortunate lighting directly in front of me, and it is not at all that big in your case! I thought I'd just mention that it could minimize it even more and maybe even fit a little better even just with 1-2mm since it did wonders for my armor Just throught that if it was something that you had thought about it could be a good thing for me to just share, since I too have an RS armor and they tend to extend this particular edge! These comments doesn't affect the application anyway so don't take it as anything else than a tip for the future Excited to see that long awaited Centurion badge under your name Luca!1 point

Also correct that is an error. It is an Anovos Premiere fiberglass helmet that has been heavily modified. Chin was cut, clips are replaced with TLJ clips, noseplate is replaced with TLJ noseplate, now teeth have been custim cut out from a trace of the executioner helmet. The new TLJ helmet will be arriving shortly and I will upload that to photos as well.1 point

I'm happy to steer clear of the small variations or lets call them anomalies, like as you mentioned, Mr No stripes. Clear differentiating points between each film that are represented frequently are our best bet for the norm. We have one such point with the pic rail to separate TFA to TLJ, so the rear sight, no groove and cocking lever gives us a few more. I think that's pretty solid. Personally, I'd leave the anomalies from TFA out of it for the same simplicity sake as we do with armour.1 point

This is nothing about the belt and it can't really be fixed with foam-- Unless we're going for 10+cm. To put this into perspective: I'm 5'10 (177cm) and weigh 117 lbs (53kg) on good days. Thus I am severely underweight. For most armor parts, foam does work, but I've tried such with the abplate and if it doesn't even begin to help when I got 7cm, I look for a new solution. This one is my strapping, which let's me slide my armor into the correct position, not only for approval pictures. Maybe I should have adjusted my sliders incrementally, if so, that's on me for prioritizing trooping over Centurion, but I'll wait for the DOs to give me feedback on that. All I can say is, if I loosen the sliders even further, chances are it won't look any better, as the edges already align in the picture above -- I just don't have enough mass to fill the armor so well that there won't be any shadows from unfortunate lighting. A close-up, showing the alignment. As you can see, the shadow comes from a sidelight due to the shape of the abplate, not from any overlap. By not having any lights on my front, I could have avoided the shadow, but I don't think it's gotta do with my strapping/padding (unless we artificially push out the kidney, which would look pretty bad on the inside as well as from the outside -- should there be any different lighting, perspective or camera angle), nor do I think a change there will help with wearing or trooping the armor. Thanks for your feedback, Glen, hope I could explain my choices and armor a bit better EDIT: thanks again, I've had a few minutes to think a bit about it and already found a few possibilities to fix this: adjustment to my strapping, magnets... However, I want to take this opportunity to implore the DOs to not make me retake the pictures, as the last time taking pictures for Centurion took me a few months. Also, the fact that the following were recently approved (congrats guys, and please don't take this as criticism regarding your Ab-Kidney connection... just as a desperate argument for the DOs by myself, lol), so there should be no immediate need for more pictures:1 point

Sling seen in The Force Awakens, predominantly used by Rey, but also seen with at least 2 Stormtroopers. Behind the scenes, nice look a the D ring clip Sling mounts can be seen on this F-11D Rifle which was on display at NYCC in 2017 (here) Another angle Other side. I found adding some thicker foam behind the abdomen and loosening the belt a little helped to stop the overlapping. Your application images don't have to be troop worthy, only detail worthy, you can make adjustments while wearing for each photo, like adjusting side gaps, rotating bells, tilt of helmet and so on1 point

I'm 30 weeks into my 12 week wait for the BlastFX kit... not that I'm impatient. Just really really thought I'd have it by now. Alas. Anyways, I've trooped twice with the Leia Leveller and it has one problem. It hangs TERRIBLY in the holster. It's not nearly this bad with my leg in the way, but it still pokes out a lot. It's unpleasant. In contrast, my (well, like 50% at this point) resin Quest Design hangs like this. It's fine. Good weight and it doesn't poke out. The QD has the original metal folding stock from Joseph, a hollowed out barrel for the little blinky light and some sound, and the metal Blaster Factory grip and trigger. In contrast, the Blaster Factory E11 is as it came aside from paint and the real Hengstler. The weight and weight distribution is unchanged from the factory spec. So I got this - another genuine Stirling folding stock from Joseph. My thought was that it would add more weight to the nose and help the blaster hang better. The Blaster Factory stock is aluminum and doesn't weigh much at all. The Stirling stock weighs a good bit. They're almost identically sized. A slight different bulge or bend here and there, but the bolts line up. I was able to use the original Blaster Factory screws and spacers (seen at the top) to mount the OG stock. And here it is! Looks pretty much identical huh? I was prepared to file, dremel, cut, and slice to make this work but no work was required. Uninstall one, reinstall the other. I also swapped over the greeblies. And now it hangs like this. It's not perfect but it's WAAAYYYY better and doesn't poke out during troops. The extra couple pounds of weight also feels nice in the hand. The folding stock still folds nice and interfaces where it should with the cap. It doesn't snap in, but it doesn't flop around either. I could bend this a bit more and make the fit tighter, but I hardly ever fold it and don't want to affect how it mounts otherwise, so I'm leaving it. This mod was a slam dunk anyway. Maybe 2023 will see this blaster having some electronics...1 point

Maybe... But I think there's just 5 left on the calendar this year. Alas. And thanks The dark horse next to me was the sweetest ever. I stood there next to him for a loooonnng time while waiting for others to take photos and he nuzzled my arm. Both me and his rider were worried about bites, but there were none. Just love and interest while I petted his nose. It was a great moment. I COULD HAVE RIDDEN THAT HORSE!!!! Next horse.1 point

Haha, it was about time The Meme is strong in this one Thanks guys! Thank you! It's got its fair share of weathering and a few cracks, but I love it Well, 38 official troops plus half that unofficially have left their marks, so it's not as shiny as it used to be, but I love the weathering There shouldn't be much, if any overlap in the pictures as I've got a fairly rigid strapping and Biggi double checked, but thanks for the mention. Let's see if the DOs think this needs to be corrected, I hope not, as I'd probably end up with a gap between the two plates... Thanks, Sir Awaiting your feedback! Of course! Here's a clearer picture, hope this helps: Don't mind the angled shot, but this perspective really highlights the ABS paste, so it's easier to spot what I did: the curve correction at the top of the abplate, as well as the former rivet positions Thanks for the overwhelming amount of feedback so far, I'm really happy how excited everyone is1 point

As promised better pics, you guys are the first to see. As you can see the details really speak for themselves! These ones are prototypes as I’m still learning how to use the material and these paints, so they aren’t 100%. It’s very delicate and precise work. These ones are for sale minus the ABS version as that is serial #1. If you are interested in picking up one of these first edition PP's shoot me a PM on here or FB. These won’t go into production till next year however the line-up we will be offering will be as follows: Black/Khaki PP Kits PP Finished Helmets (any variation you like) ABS 1.5mm Helmets ABS 2mm Helmets Full kit with PP Helmet Full kit with ABS Helmet Lots to choose from! NEW Detachment Leader Merchandise & Officer Just For Laughs FISD Meme's Update Your Build Threads Around the Detachment Charity Auction Trooping Opportunities INFORMATION & AWARD PROGRAMS Common FISD Acronyms and TK Glossary Pre Approval Forum 3D Section Field Exercise Award Imperial Attaché Program Master Armorer Award Fire Teams EIB & Centurion: What do these terms mean? Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advanced Tactics Awards Public Relations Staff List 2020 Follow FISD Greetings fellow members and a warm Happy Holidays to all. As the end of 2022 fast approaches, I would like to personally thank everyone for their contributions to our most awesome Detachment. Without active members and staff, this place wouldn't be as good as it is, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart. On to business, Finally after a couple of years of deliberations and tweaking we have added The Rise of Skywalker to our The Last Jedi CRL. Both sets of armour are the same, but the one significant difference is a new weapon only seen wielded in TRoS, and that is the Electro Prod This is a single weapon carry, meaning no blasters or other accessories of any description can be carried when portraying this costume character. As weapons are not a prerequisite of Basic level approval, this means there is only a TRoS TK at our higher levels. Other changes to the TLJ CRL are as follows. Basic: Cod to Posterior plate strap. It's on all our other armour so it made sense to add this oversight. It can clearly be seen in a few screen shots and is a very easy addition to make. Expert Infantry: Minor Thermal Detonator and Forearms, inclusion of more accuracy. F11-D slightly different to TFA version now with correct colour scheme. Centurion: Major Thermal Detonator upgrade as it is a different construction to TFA version. The TFA version simply painted differently will no longer be acceptable at Centurion for TLJ. There are also 3D files available for the thermal Detonator so builders will have options. Forearms need to be trimmed/modified to emulate TLJ/TroS which are different to the TFA and Finn Hero versions. These mods have been tested, are found to not be too difficult and are represented in new CRL Images and a new CRL Model. F11-D must have Picatinny rail attached as per TLJ/TroS references. The Heavy Version will undergo the same treatment once we have photos of the more accurate version from a build currently underway. All told, we now have a more accurate representation for this costume, giving better separation from it's TFA predecessor. As all changes aside from the Cod strap are at our optional higher levels of approval, they only affect Detachment approvals, not your local Basic level by a GML We do however offer a 3 month grace period for anyone who is already underway with their actual build. Those who are have the option to build to the now grandfathered CRL, or take up the challenge of reaching the highest tiers we offer with the latest version. The 3 month grace period will end on the 5th of March 2023, after which only the new CRL will be available. If you require a copy of the previous version, please contact our Deployment Officers as they have copies in PDF available to email you. Retail Embargo Lift For most of the year we are under an embargo from LFL and can not attend retail locations unless prior approval has been given by them. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted December 1-31 at retailers selling Star Wars Related merchandise for the holiday season. All fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within this window with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. Although these appearances will be treated like an open invite, we’ll leave it to the fan groups to independently organize around these events as they see fit. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these. Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. In the coming weeks, we may send out a list of ‘preferred’ retailers from certain regions who would welcome fans to participate at their venues within these event windows, but you are all still welcome to make plans with appropriate retailers or venue hosts of your choice regardless of whether or not they appear on the list. Dec 1-31 -- ok to appear at retailers selling SW-related merchandise for the holiday season "Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. If the retail location does not stock Star Wars products you should NOT be attending." *REMEMBER* Always follow your garrison/squad's guidelines when in comes to organising Disney/LFL promotional troops, only command staff can deal direct with LFL.
