Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advanced Tactics Awards Public Relations Staff List 2020 Follow FISD Greetings fellow members and a warm Happy Holidays to all. As the end of 2022 fast approaches, I would like to personally thank everyone for their contributions to our most awesome Detachment. Without active members and staff, this place wouldn't be as good as it is, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart. On to business, Finally after a couple of years of deliberations and tweaking we have added The Rise of Skywalker to our The Last Jedi CRL. Both sets of armour are the same, but the one significant difference is a new weapon only seen wielded in TRoS, and that is the Electro Prod This is a single weapon carry, meaning no blasters or other accessories of any description can be carried when portraying this costume character. As weapons are not a prerequisite of Basic level approval, this means there is only a TRoS TK at our higher levels. Other changes to the TLJ CRL are as follows. Basic: Cod to Posterior plate strap. It's on all our other armour so it made sense to add this oversight. It can clearly be seen in a few screen shots and is a very easy addition to make. Expert Infantry: Minor Thermal Detonator and Forearms, inclusion of more accuracy. F11-D slightly different to TFA version now with correct colour scheme. Centurion: Major Thermal Detonator upgrade as it is a different construction to TFA version. The TFA version simply painted differently will no longer be acceptable at Centurion for TLJ. There are also 3D files available for the thermal Detonator so builders will have options. Forearms need to be trimmed/modified to emulate TLJ/TroS which are different to the TFA and Finn Hero versions. These mods have been tested, are found to not be too difficult and are represented in new CRL Images and a new CRL Model. F11-D must have Picatinny rail attached as per TLJ/TroS references. The Heavy Version will undergo the same treatment once we have photos of the more accurate version from a build currently underway. All told, we now have a more accurate representation for this costume, giving better separation from it's TFA predecessor. As all changes aside from the Cod strap are at our optional higher levels of approval, they only affect Detachment approvals, not your local Basic level by a GML We do however offer a 3 month grace period for anyone who is already underway with their actual build. Those who are have the option to build to the now grandfathered CRL, or take up the challenge of reaching the highest tiers we offer with the latest version. The 3 month grace period will end on the 5th of March 2023, after which only the new CRL will be available. If you require a copy of the previous version, please contact our Deployment Officers as they have copies in PDF available to email you. Members build threads are one of the biggest areas of watermarked/missing images and we are asking you the membership to help and update your build threads yourselves as this is just too big a task for staff. Build threads requiring updates are being moved over to this area https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/241-build-threads-requireing-maintenance/ Thank you in advance for your cooperation. New FISD Tri-Fold Brochure It's been quite a long time since we actually had these available and since then many things have changed leading us to updating some of the text to include new costumes, and have more relevant information. Retail Embargo Lift For most of the year we are under an embargo from LFL and can not attend retail locations unless prior approval has been given by them. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted December 1-31 at retailers selling Star Wars Related merchandise for the holiday season. All fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within this window with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. Although these appearances will be treated like an open invite, we’ll leave it to the fan groups to independently organize around these events as they see fit. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these. Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. In the coming weeks, we may send out a list of ‘preferred’ retailers from certain regions who would welcome fans to participate at their venues within these event windows, but you are all still welcome to make plans with appropriate retailers or venue hosts of your choice regardless of whether or not they appear on the list. Dec 1-31 -- ok to appear at retailers selling SW-related merchandise for the holiday season "Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. If the retail location does not stock Star Wars products you should NOT be attending." *REMEMBER* Always follow your garrison/squad's guidelines when in comes to organising Disney/LFL promotional troops, only command staff can deal direct with LFL. These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) ASK THE D.O.s For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! 3. 2022 Reflection My first full year of trooping ended, counting 34 Troops this year. I had so much fun, got my EIB and ended up forming the Chaos Division Fireteam with my Trooper buddies. Thank you to all, who made this year so special! And as long as we still have a few days left in this year, it was finally time to tackle the last big challenge for my ANH Stunt TK. I can sit, kneel, lie down. I got my EIB. What's left? Obviously the one thing still on my to-do list since September last year. Let's see if we can get this done in 2022 as well Centurion Application Well, finally the time has come, and I've submitted my Centurion Application . I'm very happy that I finally had an opportunity to take these pictures and tackle the last modifications with the help of my TK-sister @Swoby. Thank you, sister! Last Modifications One of the modifications I've struggled with the most was my thighs not being a similar shape. The difficulty was, that I had no way of controlling how the back shape of my thigh looked without someone to help me out. Now, with someone to look everything over, I managed to find a good mix between cutting the armor to size and adding padding. Aside from the regular paint and repair work, I had one more challenge: getting the ab and kidney gap to line up. I'd accidentally managed to have an angled cut at the top, so I had to put a filler ABS piece there and fill the curve up with ABS paste. I'm very happy with this one, as you can't even notice it anymore Now, I've still got a few things on my to-do list, but I'll keep those secret as long as my Centurion Application is ongoing. Don't wanna give anyone ideas Enjoy the holidays

  8. I realize we have finished with this round of TLJ/TROS CRL updates but for now I will add any new info here so it's not lost. One item I hadn't added previously was the F-11D rear sight, it changes after TFA (although we do see the odd different blaster in TLJ and TROS and even on some promo images, majority have the rounded sight) TFA Angular sight TLJ Rounded sight TROS Rounded sight The Heavy F-11D didn't change and still used the TFA Angular sight (perhaps as not many were used between the movies) TROS Picatinny screws aren't mentioned in the CRL. Also position of picatinny rail on barrel is mid barrel We also didn't add the two holes in top of the barrel or no cocking lever but has a slot for one. Promo image was different to majority of F-11D's used in TLJ and TROS, has black D ring, picatinny rail further forward on barrel and angular rear sight, no cocking lever or slot, no extra holes in top of barrel TROS

  12. 12/11/22 - Subaru of NM 1st Annual Holiday Car Show and Toy Drive 39th for the year, 42nd TK troop As the event name implies, this was a car show troop that was also a toy drive. Each car had to donate a $10-or-more toy as an entry fee and there were a TON of cars. Including one of mine!!! My 2nd car show troop. (I'm doing the hero pose on the left above) My aforementioned car, the blue Suzuki Cappuccino. It's about 3/4 the size of a Miata, right hand drive, Japan import, 3 cylinder kei car. It's hilarious to drive and this is my first time trooping with it. The armor takes up all of the trunk and most of the passenger seat. My buddy Cara was organizing the show and brought her silver Cappo, so I had to wingman. Coffee? Yes plz. Scout troopers take note - TKs are coming for your jobs!!! Leg out drift pose: check! The boss gave this lowrider truck a small adjustment. The traditional pose-with-the-tiny-cars-and-completely-obscure-them photo. and After troop cuddles featuring the Rio Bravo Fire Team. 12/11/22 - Toy Collection for Haven House (2 of 4) 40th for the year, 43rd TK troop We're doing four toy collection events for Haven House. This one was right after the carshow troop. Good times with the fam. Lucas, the small Jedi pictured came out to the first collection the day before and met everyone. When he was told that Vader would be there the next day, he made his mom bring him back. And they brought donuts! And hugs. It was amazing. Lucas was amazing. Mom's building a Dark Rey costume and I told them about Galactic Academy, so hopefully they'll join the family soon. Look sir, donuts! (I had ONE take and no stage direction, so I'm super pleased with how closely this turned out) At the other end of this parking lot was a bunch of mounted officers doing their own outreach event. I had to walk over and get horse selfies. I asked permission and they rewarded me with these SMILES! Bad guys doing good. Good guys doing good! HORSES DOING GOOD!!! We were sympatico in that moment. Bucket list item: Get a horseback riding pic in armor. Someday it'll happen.

These ones are prototypes as I’m still learning how to use the material and these paints, so they aren’t 100%. It’s very delicate and precise work. These ones are for sale minus the ABS version as that is serial #1. If you are interested in picking up one of these first edition PP's shoot me a PM on here or FB. 16. I decided to paint the inside of the bucket before I moved on to attempt the outside to prevent any possible bleed ruining my outer paint work. Note: unfortunately that proved to have been fruitless anyway as you'll see in the next few posts. I didn't document the black painting, but I got a few shots of it masked up and the primer

  17. That was kind of where I was originally headed. I wondered what kind of volume it would produce if your whole chest *became* the speaker. I have the Pyle-Pro 50w Amp on recommendation from the trooperTalk site. It's 50w and pretty loud, but it weights a bit more than the Aker, which I would have gotten in hindsight. (20/20) I am looking into getting the Tramp possibly or one of the other similar versions with built-in static & bursts. Using an iPhone in addition to that speaker is too much for my brain to juggle and having it all integrated would be nice. Do you have any photos of your set up?

  22. 12/3/22 - Socorro Christmas Light Parade 41st TK troop, 38th for the year, 7th HWT CDZ-5435 - troop 16 and her 1 year trooperversary TI-50597 - troop 8 I tend to go overboard sometimes. I can't help myself. It's a personality flaw. See, we needed 3 strands of lights on our kits minimum. I ended up with 24. Twenty Four (24). That includes 4 strings on the candycane and 5 strings on my HWT pack. But it was my first parade troop and I had to do it up big! My whole family did it up big. My wife had around 12 strings on her bucket, tubes, and chest plate and my daughter had roughly 16 pinned to her sparkle robe. That's Photobomb Vader in the background. Holly Jolly. The family decked out. My daughter was the only GA there. Noticed the umbrella did you? The weather brought us more than a cup of cheer. It was MISERABLE. And let me qualify that statement - I was miserable. It was not my most fun troop ever and that was wholly on my own shoulders (heh). 1) I decided to do my HWT pack. It's only 14 lbs, but I carried it for four hours. FOUR HOURS of pack. 2) I knew it was gonna be really cold and had a chance of rain, so I wore my Rogue One undersuit. With my regular TK suit underneath. Underneath my ANH Stunt. 2.1) I could barely move. Severe motion restriction. The lights, the undersuit, the pack, the hat bapping me in the eye... But most of it was that undersuit. It's not meant for my very form fitting ANH Stunt armor. 3) See the buckets of rain above. and 4) before we left to get soaked, we baked in a literal oven known as the fire department garage. They had the heaters raging above the bays and it was in the 80s inside. So first we baked, then we got soaked and frozen. But I could have just been a regular TK with my regular cold weather undersuit and alleviated most of my discomfort. Ya live and learn. There were a LOT of us. Here's the before shot. And here's the after. Cold and wet, but still together, glowing, smiling, and having fun. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything and am overjoyed that I did it. Just slightly underwhelmed at my own costuming choices. Next year I'll just TK it.
