  1. Also! I forgot. For the last couple weeks I have been working on the blaster. Hoping to have it finished by tomorrow. And! Recieved my premium neck seal and boots.

  3. I ordered my amor kit through TrooperBay and it arrives in a week or so. Cant wait to put the blood, sweat, and tears into having my suit ready by October 28th. It probably won’t be 501st ready for a couple months though. I’m not sure the realistic length of time it will take me to complete my build.

  5. Heat gun did the trick! I finally grew the cahonas to use the heat gun on the armor. If I had known it was that easy ( with a careful eye) I would have used it moons ago. Thanks for the input. Now just gotta add paste to the gap

  8. Yes, I read the entire guide as soon as I had access to the 501st forum. Thank you for the advice. I will make sure to stay hydrated. I know how much you sweat. Just kitting up for my approval photos pretty much soaked me. LOL

  10. So tomorrow is the big day, going on my first troop at a local Comic-Con.. so excited. I signed up to be a range target as well for the blast a trooper. Made a few last minute modifications to the armour today. Replaced the 4 12 V fans and power supply which were not blowing well due to the power supply only putting out 5 W. I now have 2 6 volt fans powered by 4 AA batteries with on /off toggles for each fan. More room in the helmet now that the power bank is out. Will be buying rechargeable batteries soon. Switched the nylon straps between the kidney and back plates for elastic ones and made new shoulder bridge elastics that are slightly shorter to bring the back piece up and closer to my back. This worked well and I finally felt comfortable to trim the big tabs off of the back of the shoulder bridges. polished up the kit and packed it all up for tomorrow morning’s early start.

  11. I had the exact same issue with my AP armour as well. I glued a small scrap piece of ABS along the raised edge to bring the pieces together, then made the mobility cut up to the raised edge. There may be a small gap, but you can fill that with ABS paste The raised edge is pretty thin in the middle.

  12. Not a deployment officer, but I had the exact same issue on my AP thighs. About 60 seconds of careful heatgun application had both sides flat and equal to each other. I followed it up with trimming to make them equal and ABS paste to fill the gap.

  13. You could drop your thighs just a little, give you a little more room for movement at the tops of them, also nearly touching on the sides. Getting close to the exciting time

  14. Hey Sky11, I guess if you want to remove the one I posted earlier in this thread, that works with me, and I can just try commenting again with the IMGUR links. I appreciate all the info and the help gentlemen!

  15. Thanks for the advice Q. I’ve been plugging away at sanding things down and it does seem to be getting better. I’ll take it off for some more work on it. [emoji1696]Hopefully I’ll be done soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
