Hey guys, I wanted to thank you all for the feedback! I was able to work on it and get it approved!!! I appreciate all the help, I still have some things to work on for future higher levels, but I did get the basic approval, and I'm beyond excited! Say hello to TK-226173 points

Good day all, I just realized I never made an official "reporting for duty" post, so here it is. Approved in July with my ANH Stormtrooper. I am part of the Badlands Garrison in Western Canada. About me? Star Wars fan all my life, even saw Episode 4 in theaters way back in 1977, so now you know I'm old. Always loved the Stormtooper, even as a kid so I knew this had to be my first entry to the 501st. The armor is so intimidating. Journeyman heavy diesel mechanic by trade but haven't turned a wrench since 2005 and have been in management since. In my spare time I 3D print many things (mainly Star Wars of course), walk my dog "Chewie", corrupt my son to join the Empire, and as well I have an Instagram account where I post Star Wars action figure photos and try to be funny. Also I love to travel with Disneyland being one of my more frequent stops. One day, I'd like to troop with the SoCal Garrison or the Imperial Sands Garrison as I get to San Diego often as well. If you want to know more, drop me a line and say hi. TK-11651 signing off.2 points

I appreciate the words of kindness and the welcomes! Yeah it happened Dec 6th 2021, and it's just so weird for somebody to be there everyday, then the next they're not, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. I'm 48, have always loved Star Wars since the Original trilogy and my very first 3.75" figure, C-3PO. Almost 7 years ago, Black Series 6" figures brought me back into collecting v Star Wars toys, which opened up me to buying original vintage playsets, and newer release figures and vehicles, cause the articulation was way better, and the better paint apps, and I have a few Hot Toys also, haha. Ever since I was a kid, I swore to myself the one day, I would have a set of Stormtrooper armor displayed on a mannequin, standing at attention, in my house one day. Purchased the armor in April, maybe May, and had to return the mannequin because it was too tall to get so the armor on it. I literally have 1 room full of toys, and almost 2/3rds of another room for the rest. It's predominately Star Wars, but I also collect Marvel Legends (mostly Spider-Man characters), McFarlane DC Multiverse (mostly Batman), GI Joe Classified, and other random toys from the 70's/80's that I had as a kid.2 points

Hello everyone! My name is Brad and I recently purchased a complete, finished, armor kit from a 501st member. I purchased the other things I needed; balaclava, undersuit, gloves, holster, and all my electronics to install in my bucket. Only thing I have to left to install in the helmet is my UKsWrath Hearing Assist kit. Everything else; ICOMM, UKsWrath Speaker Hovi tips, amplifier, microphone, and dual fan system, I installed. Still have some final things to do to secure everything in place. I'm interested in joining the 501st. I just think it would be a great group to be a part of, and I truly think that the fundraiser part, love, and support the 501st brings to people through their events would really warm my soul. After all the negatives I had to deal with in my life; unexpected death of my wife, tending to her 76 year old mother, and just general life stresses, I feel this would be really be good for my soul and overall spirit. Thanks to all who read and listened. I'm very new to all of this, but am glad to have found White Armor, and hopefully I can become a Legion member and join the Carolina Garrison. Much love and MYFBWY all!1 point

Thanks for the advice Q. I’ve been plugging away at sanding things down and it does seem to be getting better. I’ll take it off for some more work on it. [emoji1696]Hopefully I’ll be done soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

You can use what ever internal strapping you like, there are no requirements This is how I strap my shoulder straps For multiple ongoing questions I would advise starting a thread in the ANH costume area rather than posting them in this area as it's not really a centurion program questions https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/6-anh-stunt-and-hero/1 point

After looking through the two and comparing images, I went with the OxProps file for the mortar. It's more detailed and looks more accurate. There were a couple things on the Empire3D file that were off or missing. So now I've got the files for the mortar and the backpack, and a friend of mine is going to print them for me. So stay tuned!1 point

Well, here us the end result of my right thigh redone sanded and painted. Used ABS paste on the larger gap along with the backing for the paste to adhere and for the small areas I used Apoxie Sculpt and Gloss White paint and primer. I had to paint the whole thigh piece and now in the process of polishing.1 point

Hey folks, Two steps forward and a little step back. Work in progress - SE-14R Below - I’ve been using Milliput to make modifications. These include: Filling the scope at both ends Significant change to trigger housing Filling in knurling Filling area under rear end cap After doing lots of sanding to get the Milliput blended in, I then applied a light primer coat to see how it’s all looking. You may have noticed that I’m removing the knurling from the muzzle and end cap - this is true to the specific version I’m following. The step back is that I dropped the scope and it cracked. I’ve attempted a repair and hope it will be strong enough. Oh well - onwards and upwards. :-)1 point

Finished! It was difficult to figure out this weathering technique, but it worked in the end. I wanted to replicate the weathering of the troopers in the Kenobi show on Mapuzo, the ones in that truck/transport scene on the mining planet. They had this great dusty-wiped-clean-to-white look. Some were more heavily dusted, and others less (see reference pics). The trick would be to make a permanent paint look. I had some detailed close up pics from a stunt performer on the show, who said I can identify him here on these forums: fellow 501st Legion member Ardeshir Radpour @equuspolo (again, sorry but they are not able to be shared here). The photos showed some of the “dust” effect was beading up, like acrylic from an airbrush would on glossy paint. After a test, my hunch was right. I used some Vallejo acrylic airbrush paint (black and US earth brown), diluted with some Liquitex acrylic airbrush medium. Sprayed from a distance, at 10 PSI, this got the faint dusty look. I tried quickly wiping it with a soft rag with alcohol, but that smeared it. I had to remove a lot of that first coat with rubbing alcohol, which left a patchy residue (but that added to the overall grime texture). Next I tried the same mist. Let it dry a few minutes. This time used water and a coarser rag (a piece of khaki twill pants), and wet the area and scrubbed the acrylic paint off. Acrylic, though dry in a few minutes, on a glossy surface is still sort of removable with water and light scrubbing for a few hours. Using my fingernail behind the wet fabric I could make a line or scrape area. Bit by bit, I hit the high points and any other areas, removing brown. This technique was not easy, a little frustrating, because if you scrub too hard, you remove it all in a patchy way, but you want to just get some of it. It is a fine balance. Finally, some brushed on acrylic black marks on high points here and there like it looks on the references, and a few patches, which is done much like movie clone armor has. To weather the black parts, I used some grey Fuller’s earth dust on the corners of the lenses, in the cracks on the vocoder, and hovi tips to give those black areas some dust in the recesses. Wiped it off with a rag, and because these are going to be hard to contact, they are not permanently bound to the surface (they should just stay like real dust would). Finished! Here are the results, shot in sunlight to compare to the sun-lit scenes on Mapuzo:1 point

The side rivets are supposed to face each others. Here your rivets on the left side of the kydney plate aren't facing the ones on the abdominal plate.1 point
